Since the weekly reset on June 5th, the fifth part of the quest series for the Polaris Lance – “Impending Twilight 5/5” – is available in Destiny 2. In this final quest step, you now get the corresponding catalyst for the exotic scout rifle.
The quest series “Impending Twilight” comes to a close this week. As many fans have correctly guessed, Guardians can now earn the masterwork catalyst for the Polaris Lance in this fifth and final step of the task.
Impending Twilight 5/5 – How the Quest Series Ends
Even the last part of this long quest line consists of several steps. Here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: Achieve 15 multi-kills with the Valkyrie (3+ kills).
Good to know: This week Ikora is offering the mission “Will of the Thousands” as meditation for you. During this mission, you can use the Valkyrie without sacrificing a weapon code for it. The Valkyrie kills from this mission also count towards quest progress.
Otherwise, it is recommended to take part in the WarSat event and use the Valkyrie there. If you have spare codes, you can also easily start the Escalation Protocol and request the relic weapon via code there.
Step 2: Complete 3 PvP matches. Only participation is important. You do not have to win.
Step 3: Now you must complete the lighter version of the mission “Strange Terrain” on Mars. The task is marked for you on Mars.
Step 4: Interact with the Sleeper Node in the middle of the server room in the Alton Dynamo Zone. You can watch the following video to see where it is and how to get there.
From this node, you will then receive the final data and must upload it to the last server at Ana. Then speak with her.
Reward: As the final reward of this quest series, you will receive the masterwork catalyst for the Polaris Lance. This requires a certain number of defeated enemies (probably 300) and 50 kills with the “Perfect Fifth” perk. The masterwork version of the Lance will then gain the perk Dragonfly.
Interesting: As it seems, you do not have to kill the enemies with the explosion but with the burn effect of the weapon. However, it is not certain whether this is not a bug. The easiest way is to prepare the fifth shot and fire it at a normal red-bar enemy. The enemy should then burn without problems.
