The new Destiny 2 raid in the Deep Stone Crypt has 2 chests with loot that can both be obtained solo – one of them is quite easy with just a little effort. And it can be worth it – for raiders and also for players who otherwise do not venture into the raid. MeinMMO explains how you can get the first raid chest completely alone.
What are the raid chests? Destiny 2’s new expansion Beyond Light brought numerous fresh contents – including a new raid in the Deep Stone Crypt on Europa.
In the individual encounters of this PvE top activity, you can earn all kinds of cool, exclusive raid loot – such as the raid exotic “The Eyes of Tomorrow”.
However, there are also chests in the raid from which you can get some useful items – regardless of whether you enjoy raiding or not.
This is why it’s worth getting the raid chests: You receive
- 10x Conquest spoils guaranteed – per week, per character. This is a new resource for the kiosk in the Tower, from which you can pull old exotics or special weapons.
- The chance for special raid mods
- The chance for raid weapons and armor pieces – but only for those that have already dropped for you in the raid. So if you haven’t completed a raid encounter yet and received any raid loot, you won’t have a chance through the chests either.
So if you want missing top exotics from the kiosk, you need to go into the raid. Because the conquest spoils are only available there. And so players who wouldn’t normally raid can also access the new resource – provided they bring time and have to be diligent. Because for an exotic weapon, you need 240x conquest spoils. So if you only focus on the 1st raid chest, you’ll need a solid 8 weeks to gather this amount with 3 characters. But without the raid, you get nothing.
Players who enjoy raiding but cannot regularly visit the Deep Stone Crypt can, through this method, also farm mods and the resource solo in between and possibly even grab additional raid gear.
How to get the first raid chest solo
Requirements:
- First, you must have the Beyond Light expansion. Without it, you can’t enter the raid at all.
- Additionally, you should reach at least power level 1,220 (with artifact), as you will encounter enemies shortly and below that level, it gets noticeably harder.
You don’t need a team for this. The first Sparrow phase as well as getting the chest can also be done solo – and with all 3 Guardian classes. You are neither under time pressure, nor do you have to worry about respawns. This all takes place in a non-dark zone, so you can retry as often as you want upon dying.
Where can I find the raid? The new raid in the Deep Stone Crypt is located on the new location Europa:
The way to the first chest
The beginning: After you spawn, you need to clear the area first and eliminate all enemies so that the massive hatch opens, granting you access to the crypt. Go down through this access, get on your Sparrow there, and then it’s all about following the course of the tunnel and driving through until you reach the first red dome or bubble.
From here, you must follow a specific path from dome to dome and be careful not to die from the Frostbite debuff (after it stacks to 10x).
Bypass Frostbite debuff: You can completely bypass this debuff with a little trick.
- Park your Sparrow just outside the bubble and get off it into the bubble.
- Then quickly get back on your Sparrow from inside the bubble, which is still parked outside.
- This should go quickly, or else the Sparrow will disappear.
- If you’ve done it right, you will be permanently protected by “Refuge from the Storm” at the bottom left of the screen.
How to get to the chest: Now you must follow a specific path. This is hard to describe – especially due to the poor visibility that characterizes this phase. Just pay attention to Esoterickk’s route from minute 1:08 in the following video and try to follow it as accurately as possible. At the end (minute 3:06), the first raid chest will be waiting for you.
And keep in mind: Esoterickk does not always move from bubble to bubble to remove the debuff but takes a shorter route. You should also bypass the debuff, as this gameplay style won’t otherwise be possible.
You can also get the chest regularly without bypassing the debuff. However, you will then have to move from dome to dome to lose the debuff. You can see how the exact route runs in this video by Venero TV (from minute 1:59):
What about the 2nd chest? Yes, the second raid chest can also be obtained solo. However, you need to glitch outside the map and follow a specific route there. This is not always easy and feasible even for seasoned guardians, which is why we refrain from providing an explicit description here. For them, it might be easier to grab the chest in the normal raid progression.
If you’re still interested in that, just check out Esoterickk’s top video from minute 3:09 onwards. With 2 chests on all 3 characters, you could then get up to 60x conquest spoils per week.
By the way, this is also worth knowing: The new raid is completed – 5 changes you need to know now
