With the release of Shadowkeep, there are also new events in Destiny 2. Some of these possibly have the chance to give you another secret event, which allows you to get really powerful loot with little effort.
What items are there? What you can get from the new events is random. Both gear and weapons are included. However, the drops from the secret event are extremely powerful.
The YouTuber Mtashed talks about the armor having a total of +61 points (in stats), which is more than he has ever seen. The weapons also have perks and traits that could very well make them some of the best PvE weapons in the game.
Even though you don’t really have to do much, the tasks are quite difficult. You should bring a higher power level with you. The drops are especially suitable for players who are still looking for that one perfect roll.
Secret loot on the Moon
These events you must complete: On the Moon, there are multiple public events since Shadowkeep. These must be completed. After each event, a Vex invasion should occur. Which exactly they are is irrelevant, but this probably only applies to certain locations:
- Hellmouth
- Archer’s Line
- Anchor of Light
What’s important is that after the event ends, you just wait for about a minute at the spot. Shortly after, a message should appear indicating the invasion. This can happen anywhere on the Moon.
How to get the drops: The invasions themselves already reward you with loot. However, there is a kind of “heroic mode” that is not explained in detail in the game. In this, a Vex Hydra is summoned as a super boss.
How exactly the super Hydra appears is hard to say. There are several theories on how to start the heroic event:
- Defeat all enemies as quickly as possible.
- Defeat the Hydras, then beat the Gate Lord down to about 20% health and eliminate the other Hydras it summons.
- Ignore the Hydras and just take down the Gate Lord.
Mtashed couldn’t confirm any of the theories. However, he noticed that the boss only ever appeared in Hellmouth. Other players, however, also report other locations.
It’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for the boss after an invasion. Breaker ammo helps you take down the Hydras and the boss more easily, as it can penetrate their barriers.
How to optimally obtain drops
What should I do? The Hydra boss rewards you per character and per week with two strong loot pieces. If you want to farm him, just visit a public event on the Moon and complete it. This increases your chances of the boss and good loot – and get yourself a rocket launcher on the side, if you don’t have it yet.
If you have already obtained the loot, the new Vex Offensive is more rewarding. In this, you receive loot with about the same strength as in the secret events. Anyone looking to equip themselves optimally should hit both the boss and the offensives.
