In Destiny 2, players can hunt for 50 Eyes of a wicked witch and earn prestigious titles as well as a stronger Exotic for their destruction.
Here’s what you need to find and destroy: Since the launch of Season 11, players in Destiny 2 have encountered mysterious spheres. These spherical objects can be found in various locations and have puzzled the Guardians.
Meanwhile, the purpose and number of these appearances are known: They are the Eyes of Witch Queen Savathûn. A total of 50 of these Eyes can be found across 5 planets.
In this article, we clarify where you can find all 50 of Savathûn’s Eyes, how to destroy them, and why you should take on the arduous task.
How to destroy the Eyes of Savathûn: Once you find an Eye, you must destroy it using the new Exotic Ruinous Effigy (Ruinous Effigy) – If you use any other weapon, you won’t deal damage to the sphere.
Note: Be sure to use the regular laser beam of the Exo Fusion Rifle. You could theoretically also create a Transmutation Sphere and smash the Eye in melee to destroy it. However, in this case, the destruction does not currently count for all rewards correctly (via Bungie).

These are all the locations:
- Mercury: 10 Eyes of Savathûn – from minute 0:38 in the video
- Mars: 10 Eyes of Savathûn – from minute: 02:50 in the video
- Titan: 10 Eyes of Savathûn – from minute: 08:11 in the video
- Io: 10 (+5) Eyes of Savathûn – from minute: 13:34 in the video

Will the Eyes disappear eventually? Yes! Savathûn’s Eyes are located exactly in the places that will soon (for now) disappear from Destiny 2. The content will then move to the Content Vault to make way for new ones.
You have until September 22 to find and destroy all Eyes. Also, the big autumn expansion Beyond Light will be released then.
That’s why you should destroy the Eyes: The arduous task of finding and destroying Savathûn’s Eyes is particularly worthwhile for title hunters. Additionally, lovers of the new Exotic Ruinous Effigy can make their weapon significantly stronger this way.

Leveling the Exotic Catalyst for Ruinous Effigy
How to make Ruinous Effigy a Masterwork: The new Exotic Ruinous Effigy is all the rage due to its creative mechanics. The Exotic Masterwork Catalyst makes the weapon even stronger and grants it a new perk that increases damage.
Finding the Catalyst is quite simple: You just need to get a few kills with the Transmutation Sphere, and you’ll receive the Catalyst. Leveling the item to make the Exo Fusion Rifle a Masterwork is considerably more challenging.
You have two options:
- Get 5,000 kills with the Exotic
- Destroy Savathûn’s Eyes – Each Eye grants you about 3% progress
You can also combine both options to rapidly level the Catalyst.
Even if you are only hunting the Eyes, you won’t need to destroy all 50 to make Ruinous Effigy a Masterwork. However, if you are also aiming for Triumphs and both titles, you can kill two birds with one stone.
