In Destiny 2, a way has been discovered to farm mini-bosses efficiently in the ELZ. Until now, the lengthy grind has only caused frustration.
This is why many Guardians are currently frustrated: Countless players are currently working on upgrading their Solenwende armor in Destiny 2. At some point, everyone faces the task of eliminating 100 mini-bosses in the ELZ.
The problems with it:
- This is a very time-consuming task. Only kills count if you deal damage to the mini-boss yourself. As a team, you can typically take down about 7 mini-bosses per match, out of which you might have shot at 4 or 5. So you need to play around 20 matches, which takes hours including player searches and loading screens.
- What prolongs the situation: After the mini-boss phase, many Guardians leave right away to start a new ELZ match, where they can kill more mini-bosses. Hence, it often happens that you are assigned to an ongoing match during the player search where it’s only left to fight the final boss – who, by the way, does not count towards the 100 mini-bosses.

Kill the yellow Psion as often as you like
This is the farming trick: Clever Guardians have discovered a way to bypass this endless grind, which only leads to frustration and poor player experience. That is, with a Psion, which counts as a mini-boss and spawns quite frequently.
Here’s how it works:
- Search for an ELZ match where the Cabal appear.
- Play through the mini-boss phase until the final boss phase starts. The 3 Cabal brothers should come.
- Kill 2 of the 3 Cabal bosses.
- A “Engineer Psion” with a yellow health bar will then spawn. When he enters the ELZ, this is indicated with a prompt on the left side of the screen. He comes in on a Cabal transport ship. You can’t miss him.
- Kill the Psion.
- Repeat this.
Notes:
- The Psion respawns every 20-45 seconds after you have killed him.
- Since the final boss phase has no time limit, you can farm all 100 mini-bosses in one match, saving yourself the loading times.
- It’s best to stay together in the middle of the ELZ (where the loot chest spawns at the end), as the Psion seems to always spawn near the players.
- The fastest way is to do this in a fireteam.
This farming method may not be particularly fun, but it allows you to quickly tick off the mini-boss task. Because this currently isn’t fun at all.
