Even before the release of Witch Queen, the exotic grenade launcher Parasit sparked discussions among Guardians: Is it okay to use “worm babies” as ammunition? Yes, it is. Guardians show no mercy to Savathun’s minions, so they will also be sent to the afterlife with a handful of worms – even if this specific grenade launcher also hurts you.

How do I get the exotic grenade launcher Parasit?
To get the exotic grenade launcher Parasit, Guardians must first own the Destiny 2 expansion “Witch Queen” and, most importantly, have completed the story campaign (on Classic or Legendary). Only then can they accept the exotic quest “Of Queens and Worms” from Ikora Rey.
The quest itself has 17 steps, and we will now show you exactly what to do.
- Step 1: First, meet Mara Sov. Your first target is the Enclave on Mars. Mara Sov is already waiting there for a conversation.
- Step 2: Complete the strike “Birthplace of Evil”. It is enough to complete the strike once. At the end of the strike, you must use your new ability “Deep Sight” and interact with the worm table.
- Step 3: Visit the vendor NPC of the Throne World. Fynch is expecting you for a conversation near the landing zone “Morass” in Savathun’s Throne World.
- Step 4: Find a cryptoglyph rune. Now you must enter Savathun’s Temple of Deceit. If you mark the quest in the menu, your Ghost will show you the way. Now you just need to kill all the Scorn enemies so the rune will appear.
- Step 5: Defeat 100 enemies in the Throne World. The rune is not ready for use yet – it is exhausted. It must first be charged with kills. Therefore, 100 Scorn enemies in the Throne World must perish.
- Step 6: Discover the Lost Sector “Grave”. The next quest step leads you to the Lost Sector “Grave”. It must be discovered by you. You will find access in the “Fluorescent Canal” in Savathun’s Throne World. Follow the quest marker here.
- Step 7: Complete the Lost Sector “Grave”. At the end of the sector, you will need the new ability “Deep Sight Resonance” after it has been successfully cleared. With it, you will reach the worm table, where you will interact.
- Step 8: Complete three patrols. Now you can leave the sector again. But stay in the “Fluorescent Canal,” because you should complete patrols there. To make it faster, choose patrols that only require kills.
- Step 9: Find the cryptoglyph rune in the Queen’s courtyard.
- Step 10: Discover the Lost Sector “Metamorphosis”. Here, too, you must discover the sector. You will find the Lost Sector near Miasma in Savathun’s Throne World.
- Step 11: Complete the Lost Sector “Metamorphosis”. Another secret must be discovered. So use the “Deep Sight Resonance” again and interact with the worm table.
- Step 12: Find the cryptoglyph rune in the Enticing Veil.
- Step 13: Find the Deep Sight ability. You should find the box, which can only be found with the Deep Sight ability.
- Step 14: Search for the Lost Sector “Extraction”. You will find the sector in the area “Morass” in Savathun’s Throne World.
- Step 15: Complete the Lost Sector “Extraction”. “Deep Sight Resonance” will also help you find the worm table there and interact with it.
- Step 16: Stop by Fynch again. The vendor NPC of the Throne World might have a tip for you. He is in the “Morass”.
- Step 17: Complete the parasitic pilgrimage. At the end, only the mission “Parasitic Pilgrimage” stands between you and the new weapon Exotic. Once that’s done, you have rightfully earned your reward from Mara Sov. The new Exo grenade launcher is already waiting for you.

What can the new exotic grenade launcher Parasit do?
The weapon has the intrinsic perk “Worm Hunger”: Its ammunition consists of worms that explode upon impact. The size and damage of the explosion scale with the number of enemies you defeated just before firing this weapon.
“Worm Byproduct”: This perk ensures that damage you receive from the detonation of your own worm projectile temporarily makes your other weapons stronger.
This means that to get the most out of this weapon, you should stay within the explosion’s effective range. However, this is not completely safe. Get too close, and you’ll become worm food yourself.
Does the weapon have a catalyst? Unfortunately, no. At least nothing is known about it yet. The weapon currently does not have a catalyst.
