Destiny 2 has created an incredibly tough endgame activity with the Nightfall. This week it’s even harder because “The Corrupted” is in rotation. However, an ambitious fireteam managed to kill Sedia in just one phase. We’ll tell you how.
Actually, players in Destiny 2 could relax during this long Season 15 for the hunt for titles and triumphs. The Nightfall strikes are challenging and promise a gilded Conqueror title if you complete all the strikes in the rotation.
Where is the problem? The Season of the Lost has a really nasty lineup of Nightfall strikes. There are several tough strikes included that you need to complete:
- Shadows Sea, European Dead Zone
- The Hollowed Lair, Wyrd’s Bay
- The Devil’s Cave, Cosmodrome
- Exodus Crash, Nessus
- Test Ground, Nessus
- The Corrupted, Dreaming City
“Shadows Sea” is no problem for most players at all; it is the shortest Nightfall strike. Additionally, you can easily slice Grask, the final boss in Shadows Sea, into oblivion using a sword. However, “Exodus Crash,” “Test Ground,” and especially “The Corrupted” are the complete opposite.
Don’t know the Nightfall mode yet? Here we reveal everything about it:
This is why “The Corrupted” is so hard: In the strike in the Dreaming City, things get especially tough.
- Permanent swirling Axion darts rush towards you, taking you out instantly.
- Possessed Blight on the ground rapidly drains life.
- There are enemy shields that can only be broken with charged shots.
- Homing projectiles from howlers and possessed enemies that also swoop around corners.
- Fire from possessed knights, unstoppable ogres, and overload champions.
- More than 10 negative modifiers plus competitive mode.
Even if none of that kills you, players are faced with Sedia and her screeching laughter in the final boss arena. The fight takes place at a high altitude, and the final boss does everything to push you off the map.
It’s horror and the reason why many players skip the strike even in less challenging difficulty levels. The community has aptly renamed it “The Horrified”.
Therefore, it’s refreshing to see that Destiny 2 YouTuber Gsxrclyde and his fireteam managed to kill the hardest strike boss in just one phase.
This is how you bypass the second final boss phase: Normally, Sedia would go through several immunity phases. Players must first break her shield and then follow her into the Ascendant realm. However, Gsxrclyde and his team save themselves the entire second final boss phase with their method.
They deal so much damage in the first phase that Sedia goes down. This saves them from annoying jumping sections, flying rocks, and new enemies and champions.
How did they achieve this insta-kill? This one-phase kill was only possible due to the seasonal mods. It’s a combination of Stasis, the Well of Radiance, and the incredible power of “Particle Deconstruction” and “Focus Lens”. In Season 15, linear fusion rifles become true DPS monsters.
Just “Particle Deconstruction” provides a debuff of up to 40% more damage. Additionally, “Focus Lens” further increases the damage of your light abilities. The critical multiplication is also higher with the techians, just like in the Last Wish.
This linear fusion rifle is ideal: Reed’s Regret, the new Stasis linear fusion rifle, is not suitable for this. The Stasis damage currently does not stack correctly with “Focus Lens”. Better performs “Eye of the Needle” with the perk “Vorpal Weapon”. If you do not own the weapon, focus it through Umbral Engrams from the Season of the Chosen.
It is therefore very likely that such an instakill in “The Corrupted” will only work well this season. If you ever want to triumph over Sedia this quickly, now is a good opportunity.
Are you also one of the “skippers”? Or is it a walk in the park for you when you drop by the Corrupted? What do you think of the team’s performance, have you succeeded as well? And if someone asks you for the ultimate tip for this nightfall, what would you answer?
