The Season of the Worthy has brought the new activity “Seraph Tower” to Destiny 2. Learn in our guide how to master this challenging PvE event.
What is the Seraph Tower? In Season 10 of Destiny 2, you can expect the seasonal PvE activity “Seraph Tower”. It is a public event, similar to the Escalation Protocol.
This guide will explain how the Seraph Towers work, what rewards are available, and provide tips for a successful completion.
Where does the event start? The “Seraph Tower” activity can be found in Season 10 in three locations:
- The EDZ
- The Moon
- On Io
It begins for all players nearby as soon as the Seraph Tower is manually activated. No keys or resource contributions are required; just operate the control panel in the center.
It is currently unknown if there will be a heroic version during Season 10. We will update the guide here as needed.
The Flow of the “Seraph Tower” Event
This is how the Seraph Tower works: Your goal is to charge the Seraph Tower. You have a total of 7 minutes to do this, and if the timer hits 0, the activity ends immediately. The power level is set at 980.
Unlike what the name suggests, the event consists of not one, but four towers:
- 1 main tower is located in the center
- 3 auxiliary towers are spread throughout the area
In addition to the mechanics, countless enemies will make the event more challenging. There are many adds, but occasionally stronger majors as well.
What you need to know about the auxiliary towers: To charge the main tower to 100%, you need the help of the auxiliary towers. One auxiliary tower is active at a time, which is highlighted by a quest marker.
A square area lights up around the auxiliary tower. This is the protection zone into which no enemy should enter. If an enemy is inside the inner area, the indicator will shine red instead of orange.
At regular intervals, the auxiliary tower generates spheres known as “Polarity Charges”. If you manage to keep the tower free from enemies for long enough, you will be rewarded with 6 spheres. If too many enemies enter the area, you will only receive 2 charges.
What to do with the Polarity Charges? At the auxiliary tower, there is a fiery orb several meters high. If you throw the charges at this fireball, it moves ever closer toward the main tower. You must aim carefully with your throws.
Each fireball successfully delivered to the main tower grants the event about 15% progress. You will need to repeat this step multiple times. To be precise, you have to charge the main tower 7 times.
In summary: Always pay attention to which auxiliary tower you need to protect and drive the fireball with your charges toward the main tower.
Is there a boss fight? You will face two mini-bosses. If you manage to charge the main tower to 100% within the given time, two champions will appear. Defeating them successfully completes the event.
The champions are the adversaries known from the trial by fire. They have barriers or are unstoppable, for example. Make sure to equip the appropriate artifact mods to have a chance.
These are the event rewards
The most important reward is likely the seasonal currency “War Mind Bits”. You will receive 6 units of it. In addition, there are resources, Glimmer, and random drops.
After the event, the rewards will await you in two chests:
- The first chest appears even if time runs out, but you could not complete the event 100%. In this case, you will receive less loot.
- The second chest appears only after both champions have been defeated at 100%. To open it, you need “Encrypted War Mind Bits”. It contains the seasonal armor.
Through the bits, you can obtain among other things the powerful seasonal “Seventh Seraph Weapons”. We will explain in detail what the War Mind Bits are all about in a guide to the Seraph War Mind Bunkers soon.
The Encrypted War Mind Bits can be obtained from Rasputin’s bounties or by completing Legendary Lost Sectors.
Tips for successfully completing the “Seraph Tower” event
How to find teammates: You can start the activity with 2 other friends. However, especially at the start of the season, many guardians may still be underleveled, and three fighters might not be enough.
Since it’s a public event, you can encounter random other guardians. Using the fast travel feature, you can reload the area until you find yourself in an instance with enough allies.
However, this only works if there is currently no one in your team. So gather together only once you have found enough help.
These weapons are effective: During the activity, it is important to keep the numerous enemies at bay and not allow them to enter the protection zone.
These weapons are particularly good for add-clearing:
- Risky Business
- Huckleberry
- Tommy’s Matchbook
- The Recluse
- The Anarchy
- The Gjallarhorn
- Shotguns
- The Succession
The legendary weapons can also be upgraded with the important artifact mods and thus gain an advantage in the boss fight.
This is how you quickly take down the bosses: The usual suspects will serve you best here:
These guardian classes are particularly suitable: Basically, you can do well with all classes and characters, and there are no strict guidelines. Your focus in the Seraph Towers isn’t the boss fight but rather the horde of enemies.
As in all PvE activities with many enemies, the rule is:
- Warlocks can employ top Stormcaller for add control or bottom Dawnblade.
- Titans can use exploding hammers or the mid Solar focus effectively.
- Hunters should ideally use their Nightstalker’s arrow. This weakens and binds enemies to keep them away from protection zones.
