The quest to save Saint-14 continues in Destiny 2 this week. We will show you what you need to do to complete “An Impossible Task” and bring back Osiris’s friend.
What is the quest about? The story of the Season 9 continues. As part of the quest “An Impossible Task,” you currently need to help Osiris rescue the Titan Saint-14. The first part of the quest was already available last week.
Since the weekly reset on December 17, the impossible task continues if you are sufficiently advanced. Here’s what you need to do in week 2 for the quest:
Place Vex Transponders
First, you need to place a total of 6 Vex transponders on Nessus to open a portal to the Vex network on Nessus.
The approximate locations will be shown on the map, but even with this guidance, the transponders, like the transformers from week 1, are not always easy to find. We will show you all the positions to place the transponders in the video. They are marked with white circles that you can interact with.
Vex Transponder – Exodus Black: Use the corresponding landing zone in the Exodus Black area. Once you spawn, turn a bit to the right and jump onto the high plateau directly in front of you. At the other edge, you will find the white circle.
Vex Transponder – Guardian’s Grave: Use the spawn point to visit this zone. Then turn left and head into the large circular pit dug by the Vex. This is also where the public event in this area takes place.
Stay to the left of the edge of the pit until you notice the white circle on the ground in front of a wall.
Vex Transponder – Chamber of Water: Spawn in the “Guardian’s Grave” area. This time, keep right and use the blue-shimmering Vex portal to the right of the Calus barge.
Follow the passages until you see breakthroughs in the wall through which you can look outside. On the ground in front of the right breakthrough, you will find the next white circle.
Vex Transponder – Abyss: Spawn in the “Guardian’s Grave” area and then head down (on the map) into the “Abyss” area. Once you arrive in the underground complex, look for the round arena where the flag for the public event is located, just before it starts.
From there, look back towards the entrance through which you entered the cave. To the right of that, there is a plateau above – you must climb it to find the next circle.
Vex Transponder – The Confusion: Spawn in the Artefact’s Edge area and head up (on the map, left from the spawn) into the “The Confusion” area. There you need to visit the cave complex that you also traverse in the strike Terminus of Insight.
Follow the course of the cave system until you have to overcome the first large gorge. Go to the other side, climb the slope, and keep to the right. There you will find the next position for the transponder.
Vex Transponder – The Basin: Land in the “The Basin” area. First, drive straight towards the cliff face, then follow the path to the left and continue straight until you reach the lake made of Vex milk.
Then stay near the water or milk falls on the left until you reach a platform at the edge of the falls (almost at the foot of the large tower). The white circle will be located there.
Find the Ghost of Saint-14
This is how you get the ghost: Now you need to find the ghost of the Titan Saint-14. You will also find it in the “The Basin” area. Use the Basin spawn, then drive towards the cliff face again. Once you are right in front of it, turn right and take the small entrance into the cave.
Follow its path for a while until you arrive in a large open room where you need to interact with a prominent Vex pillar on an elevation.
Then follow the light beam and jump through the Vex gate that the beam leads you to. Follow the dark corridor into the hall where you see a bunch of broken Vex. Interact with this. Then you should receive the ghost of Saint-14.
Recharge the Sundial
This is what you need to do: In the next step, you need to recharge the sundial. And that sends you directly into the Crucible or Gambit mode. Because you need to kill 25 Guardians.
In addition, you need to achieve 25 kills with your Super and collect 25 Orbs of Light.
Corridors of Time Part 2
Complete story mission: After you have spoken with Osiris, another story mission follows that you must complete. It is structured understandably, which is why we will not explain it further here – especially since we do not want to spoil anything.
If you would like to see the mission progress, you can do so here:
What comes next? After you complete the mission, there will automatically be a brief, self-explanatory interlude with the sundial. If you also managed that and then spoke with Osiris again, you will be finished with the impossible task.
What do you think of the story of Season 9 surrounding Osiris and Saint-14 so far? By the way, you can currently have fun in Destiny 2 in addition to the story – namely, by baking as part of the winter event “The Dawning”:
