Today, the Guardians in Destiny 2 are expecting a longer downtime so that Bungie has time to fix bugs in the game that are currently spoiling the experience. We will tell you how long you cannot play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC and which bugs are on your favorite loot-shooter’s to-do list. Of course, with live updates.
What you need to know today: Destiny 2: Lightfall is still affected by several bugs three weeks after its release. Some of them Bungie could fix immediately while others require more attention from the developer, such as the invisibility bug.
That’s why Bungie has already been forced to postpone PvP events:
Thus, on this Thursday, March 16, the servers of Destiny 2 will go offline for Hotfix 7.0.0.5. For players, this means not only a longer background maintenance but also a new update for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
MeinMMO will keep you informed about all known details of the downtime, tell you when you cannot play, and live update the progress of the maintenance.
8:20 PM: All systems are running again. You can log in again. We wish you a lot of fun playing Destiny 2 and of course good loot.
8:10 PM: The login services are still overloaded, even though the Destiny servers are live again. You might have to wait a few more minutes.
8:00 PM: The patch notes have now been released. You can find them at the end of this article. A little teaser: The loot in Lost Solo Grandmaster sectors has been improved.
7:00 PM: The downtime will last another hour. But players can already download the new update. It is exactly 108 MB on PC.
3:45 PM: Destiny 2 is now offline, maintenance has begun. You can find the exact schedule Bungie has planned for today in this article.
Maintenance on 16.03. – All Times for Server Down
These times are important today: There’s a lot to do, so you will have to prepare for a longer downtime as Bungie reported via Twitter. You will not only be kicked from the game earlier but can also log in later than usual.
Here’s the exact schedule for maintenance:
- At 3:00 PM German time, the maintenance work will start in the background on all platforms.
- From 3:45 PM, the servers will go offline, and you will automatically be kicked from all activities.
- At around 8:00 PM, the servers will be back online, and update 7.0.0.5 will be made available.
- The ongoing background maintenance will officially end at 9:00 PM if everything goes smoothly.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications as well as the official Companion app might not be accessible correctly for a while after the update. However, you can use the in-game loadout system introduced with Lightfall.
What Changes with Hotfix 7.0.0.5 in Season 20
This is what the hotfix brings today: Players in Destiny 2 are eagerly waiting for the bug fixes, having dealt with quite a lot of issues in recent weeks. They hope that Bungie will fix much of this really impressively long list, that even makes Telesto envious.
MeinMMO lists the known issues that Bungie is already aware of, as well as those our readers have pointed out to us. However, what will actually be fixed will only become clear with the patch notes.
- In the dungeon “Duality,” the checkpoint in the first encounter is disabled due to a cheese.
- In the Vexcalibur mission “Avalon,” players can damage the boss with the Exo bow Wishender.
- The Radiant status effect does not function as a buff for precision weapons.
- Nimbus’ weekly bounty for the weekly challenge at the Vex Incursion event does not reset correctly.
- Volatile rounds from the “Hawkmoon” do not grant Void weapons anti-barrier.
- Binding salvoes from the “Thoughts Command” do not stun unstoppable champions.
- Veterans do not receive the correct number of lore books upon their first rank-up.
- The explosive of “Survive” sometimes does not activate upon kills.
- The Trials Master Hand Cannons have one less round in the magazine than the non-master versions.
- The gravitational elevator in Neomuna is tied to the frame rate. This means players with higher frame rates die upon landing.
- Players have identified and reported additional frame rate bugs in Destiny 2 that can also lead to one-hit kills.
- The “Mark as Seen” button in collections no longer functions.
- The grenade launcher “Dimensional Hypotrochoid” can receive a range masterwork.
- Quests not related to Lightfall are displayed in the Lightfall quest category.
- The Hunter gauntlet “Thundercloud Graspers” lacks an armor synthesis ornament.
- Certain heavy weapon archetypes do not receive benefits from equipping a third resilience mod.
- Players can no longer equip the Unbroken title.
- Restoration resets to a lower timer when the original source of the buff is reapplied.
- The UI behavior of the appreciation screen causes players to unintentionally skip the end of the cinematic of the first mission of the season.
- There is an issue where some player characters and weapons appear invisible after repeated interactions with the commendation screen in activities.
- Transferring a missing item from loadouts via the Destiny API may cause crashes for some players.
- It is possible to mark targets with weapons through Titan barricades.
- The catalyst for “Great Overture” gives the explosive of the limited-time charge a confusion effect.
- When Hunters use their super, “Thread of Generation” does no longer work on their grenades if they are not melee attacks.
- The uncharged melee attack can produce quick melee combos back to back.
- When players call up the preview of armor packages on PS5, a black screen appears.
- Anti-Champion mods may sometimes function inconsistently.
- Using 3 copies of the same resilience armor mod does not offer any difference compared to using 2 copies of the same mod.
- The exotic Winterbite auto rifle and the exotic scout rifle “Malicious Touch” have lost their 40% damage increase against red-bar enemies.
- The quest “Welcome to the Hall of Heroes” can become blocked if players interact with the broken statues of an alternate character early.
- Some non-gilded titles are displayed as gilded, and some associated triumphs have been marked as incomplete.
- The Deep Sight chest in the new raid “Root of Nightmares” does not grant players who opened it before the weekly reset new rewards.
Patch Notes for Hotfix 7.0.0.5 in Destiny 2

What do you say about this list of bugs? Did you notice them all? Or just the worst ones? Let us know. And if you have noticed any other problems in the game that are spoiling your experience, feel free to leave a comment as well. The more errors are mentioned, the quicker they land on Bungie’s to-do list.
However, some bugs Destiny 2 fixed promptly and just a few hours after they became known – like this one: PvE God from Destiny 2 shows how to get the best armor particularly quickly and ensured that it is no longer exploited.
