In Destiny 2, the first hotfix for Season 17 is on the way. The servers will go offline today, May 31, for Hotfix 4.1.0.1 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia. MeinMMO will accompany the server downtime and tell you when you can’t play.
What you need to know today: In the still fresh Season 17, Destiny 2 is plagued by some bugs. Whether this is due to the permanent arrival of Telesto at the Tower is something we can only speculate about. However, Bungie has already pulled out the bug fix spray and wants to tackle the problems as quickly as possible before the new Iron Banner event starts.
19:15: The patch notes are here. We will link them for you further down in the article.
19:00: Done. The Destiny 2 Hotfix 4.1.0.1 is currently rolling out on all platforms and regions. The file size for PC is 306.17 MB. Bungie officially plans to complete the Destiny 2 maintenance by 20:00. However, you can log back in to play as soon as the update has been downloaded. And don’t forget: Today is the start of the Iron Banner event.
18:45: Servers are planned to go offline. Now there are 15 minutes of downtime to withstand..
14:00: Bungie has begun maintenance in the background. This may cause minor “hitches” and also affect the accessibility of third-party apps.
Maintenance on 31.05. – All times and server downtime
These times are important today: As always, the effective inaccessibility of the servers should only last 15 minutes today, although maintenance begins in the early afternoon. The time you cannot play will remain very short.
These times are important today:
- At 14:00 German time, maintenance will start in the background on all platforms.
- From 18:45 the servers will go offline, and you will be automatically kicked out of all activities.
- Around 19:00 the servers are supposed to come back online, and Hotfix 4.1.0.1 will be rolled out for all platforms. However, you can already log back in to play.
- Officially, maintenance for Hotfix 4.1.0.1 will end at 20:00.
It’s important: Even if you have downloaded the update, there may be connection issues until the end of the maintenance at around 20:00. You may also need to expect queues when logging in. Additionally, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may not be accessible correctly.
What is changing with Hotfix 4.1.0.1 in Season 17
This is what the hotfix brings today: After Hotfix 4.1.0.1, Guardians can expect the start of the revamped Iron Banner event. However, Bungie will likely fix a few bugs and issues first.
MeinMMO lists some of the problems that Bungie is already aware of and also those that our readers have pointed out:
- Telesto causes crashes when players interact with Banshee-44. No, this is not a joke.
- Solar 3.0 is plagued by bugs and needs technical refinement. Currently, the Solar fragment “Glow of Benevolence” is disabled.
- The elemental sources mod “Melee Source Creator” does not generate a Solar elemental source with the new melee variants.
- Players cannot pick up the fake Engrams in the final encounter of the “Sog der Habsucht” dungeon.
- Some players experience low frame rates when in their menus or in the navigator. This slows down menu interactions.
- Sometimes there is excessive zoom on characters on the character screen, so only your boots are displayed.
- The improved perk “Lock and Swap” does not work as intended.
- Using the emote “Faithful Companion” can sometimes crash the game.
- More known issues can be found on the Bungie website.
If you encounter problems in the game, it is recommended to report them directly through the official Bungie Help Forum to bring them to the developers’ attention as well.
