In the “This Week at Bungie” blog from July 26, Bungie revealed its plans for the final weeks before Forsaken. Here’s what to expect in and around Destiny 2 until the launch of the Fall expansion.

Before the release of the Forsaken expansion in September, there’s still a lot for the Guardians to do. The first year will be ending with festivities. Additionally, there are some interesting dates to look forward to. Here’s what’s happening with Destiny 2 in the final weeks before Forsaken.
What to Expect in Destiny 2 Before Forsaken
Bungie still has a lot in store for the Guardians in the final weeks leading up to the Forsaken expansion:

Hunt for the Whisper of the Worm Becomes a Weekly Activity
Starting today, July 27, the anomaly and thus the whisper mission on IO will return and be available for the weekend. Bungie also announced that this activity will now be available every week. The chance to get the Whisper of the Worm will therefore reoccur regularly.
By the way: In this context, the developers have improved the random generator responsible for selecting public events. So you shouldn’t have to wait through 3-4 Cabal events before you finally encounter the anomaly.

Crucible Labs Live Again
The Crucible Labs are back since July 26 – this time with the new Lockdown mode. How long the labs will be active this time is not known.
What is Lockdown? It is a new round-based competitive PvP mode in a 4v4 format. The objective is to capture and hold zones. But unlike Control, you only earn points if you complete the objective – similar to Zone Control from Destiny 1.
This is how it’s played: Both teams start in Lockdown with a progress of 0%. Once a team holds two zones, it gains 1% progress per second. There’s no round timer. The first team to reach 100% wins the round; the first to win three rounds wins the match.
If a team manages to take all zones, it instantly wins the round – regardless of the progress of both teams.
If a team holds two zones, you can completely halt their progress by contesting one or several of the held zones. This way, they earn no more points until they drive you out of the zones. This also applies to triple lockdown: The instant victory is only granted if all three zones are completely free.
