Bungie likes to hide many secret things in DLCs and locations that players can discover in Destiny 2. However, fans have already found hints before the release of the new DLC indicating the return of familiar things known only to “Destiny 1” players.
What has been discovered? The news site DestinyBulletin posted a comparison on Twitter of a scene that could be seen in Bungie’s latest ViDoc. This showed a half-open automated steel door.
For newcomers, this door initially says nothing, but for veterans of Destiny 1, this entrance with its distinctive symbol on the right evokes memories.
It is almost the same door from the Ishtar Collective on Venus. Additionally, there was a familiar shot of a female statue in the interactive Lightfall trailer, which also stood on the grounds of the Ishtar Collective. However, this was cut from the trailer.
The Ishtar Collective and its Vex
What does the Ishtar Collective stand for? The Ishtar Collective and its academy on Venus were involved in the research surrounding the Vex and their actions in Destiny. They studied these robots on behalf of Clovis Bray, trying to find out how they function and what connection they have with the Black Garden.
However, in Destiny 1, only ruins remained, and players had to navigate through missions and a strike in the nature-overgrown grounds of the academy.
Interestingly, the Guardians had their first encounter with the Vex in the library of the Ishtar Academy. And even in Lightfall, an ominous and supposed Lightfall Exo has a Clovis logo, which could also indicate the connection.
What could this hint mean? These hints leave much room for speculation. It could be that players have to venture to Venus to find important information about the Vex.
Perhaps this could uncover more information about the important “Veil” that the Witness seeks for his evil deeds and which is said to be hidden on Neptune.
However, it might also be that the trip to Neptune was a project of the Ishtar Collective led by Clovis Bray. So far, not much can be said about it, but it’s a mystery that players will uncover at the latest with the release of Lightfall on February 28.
What do you think of the door and the statue? Do you believe Bungie has planned an Exo mission where players will have to go back to Venus? We’d love to hear your guesses in the comments!
