Currently, some players are being plagued by an annoying bug in Destiny 2. The bug prevents the successful completion of heroic strikes from being counted as progress for quests and weekly milestones. Bungie is already offering a temporary solution. Work is also underway on other issues.
What happened? With the launch of the Warmind DLC, fans eagerly jumped into the fight. However, for some, the joy was short-lived. Numerous bugs made the Guardian life difficult. Especially a bug with heroic strikes is currently causing heated discussions. Bungie has already taken notice of the issue and promises solutions.

Heroic Strike Bug – What You Need to Know
What does the bug do? The bug prevents the successful completion of heroic strikes from being counted as progress for certain activities.
After finishing the story, players receive an extensive quest consisting of many intermediate steps. At the end of the task, a coveted exotic weapon awaits as a reward. One of the steps requires five successful completions of heroic strikes. However, for some Guardians, the completions are only sometimes or not at all counted for the quest.

The bug also prevents some players from completing their weekly milestone for heroic strikes. There, successful strike runs also do not contribute or only partially contribute to progress.
Is there a solution? Bungie is investigating the matter and working on fixing the problem. More details are to be published in the upcoming “This Week at Bungie” blog. However, for all affected players, Bungie is already offering a temporary solution. If you are plagued by this bug, here’s what you need to keep in mind:
- Gather all fireteam members that do not come from the player search before the Heroic Strikes playlist is selected in the director.
- Ensure that no one joins the fireteam after the Heroic Strike playlist has already been selected. Also, no fireteam member should be in the player menu before the activity starts.
- If a player sees a strike title (e.g., “The Arms Dealer”) when the Heroic Strike playlist is selected in the director, they should exit the director and re-select the Heroic Strikes playlist. Only when “Heroic Strike Playlist” appears on the screen should players actually start this playlist.
- Once the Heroic Strike playlist is successfully started and the players head towards the objective, they can easily switch gear, adjust settings, and view their inventory in their menu.

If you adhere to these steps, Bungie states there should be no more issues with progress tracking – neither for the quest nor for the milestones.
Other Bugs Affecting the Mood
Furthermore, the studio is currently investigating several other annoying bugs and working on corresponding solutions:
The changes introduced with DLC II for PvP matchmaking have been reverted to their previous state. These changes were meant to make life easier for solo players in the Crucible, but also brought new bugs with them. Therefore, they had to be removed from the game. At least in parts, the revised matchmaking has now been reinstated.
Problems with the in-house companion app and third-party apps are also under investigation. Some apps and sites like the companion app, Ishtar Commander, or Destiny Item Manager stopped working for many players after the Warmind launch.

According to user reports, the problem can be corrected as follows: If you log in and out of the game with all available characters, all apps should function again.
Additionally, issues concerning Season Pass owners are still being investigated. Some could not access the Warmind content, even though they had already purchased it as part of the Season Pass. Bungie initially offered a temporary fix where affected players should update their licenses. An update was also released to fix this issue. However, some fans still seem to be affected by the problem.
In the upcoming TWaB, the developers want to take a closer look at these issues and the corresponding solutions.
Have you also been plagued by bugs? Or did you experience a smooth start to the Warmind expansion?
