Bungie can’t seem to get a handle on the bugs in Destiny 2 at all. With hotfix 1.2.0.2, the issue with progress in heroic strikes was supposed to be resolved. However, the bug continues to haunt many players despite the update.
What happened? Since the release of the Warmind expansion, numerous players have been plagued by an annoying bug in Destiny 2. This bug prevents the successful completion of a heroic strike from being counted as progress for a quest and the weekly milestones. Players are unable to complete the milestones or finish the quest.
Hotfix available – Problem persists: According to Bungie, the hotfix 1.2.0.2 from May 15, 2018, should have resolved the problem. However, this does not appear to be the case. Players continue to complain on Reddit and other forums that the issue still occurs frequently.
Bungie has once again taken on the issue and is investigating the reports. They are currently asking players for further feedback.
Can the bug be worked around? As soon as the error became known, Bungie promptly offered a temporary solution for the issue. This workaround still seems to work. Here’s what you should keep in mind to avoid the bug:
- Gather all fireteam members who are not from matchmaking before selecting the heroic strike playlist in the director.
- Ensure that no one joins your fireteam after the heroic strike playlist has been selected. Also, no fireteam member should be in the game menu before the activity starts.
- If a player sees a strike title (e.g., “The Arms Dealer”) when selecting the heroic strike playlist in the director, they should exit the director and select the heroic strike playlist again. Only when it says “Heroic Strike Playlist” will players actually start this playlist.
- Once the heroic strike playlist has been successfully started and players are heading towards the objective, they can easily switch equipment, adjust settings, and view their inventory in their menu.
Are you still having issues with this annoying bug? Or have you been spared from it so far?
