Bungie is unable to manage the buggy armor Exotics from Destiny 2. As a result, the studio had to deactivate 2 more exotic armor pieces. This means that in Season 10, more armor Exotics have now been locked than the season even introduced.
This is what Bungie announced: As the developers stated on the evening of April 14 shortly after the Weekly Reset via Twitter, they have now temporarily deactivated the Exotic gloves Winterlist (for Warlocks) and the Exotic gloves Wurmgott-Berührung (for Titans) until further notice.
It is currently unknown when exactly the two armor Exotics will return to the game. Here it is stated: “until a fix can be released at a later time.”
What was the problem with these two Exotics? Without going into detail: due to a certain mechanic, one could benefit permanently from the maximum effect of these gloves and deal extremely high damage.
If combined with perks like Double-Punch and the weapon Exotic Tractor Cannon, one could take out bosses with just one melee attack.
The problems are not new: In Season 10, these are already the armor Exotics number 3 and 4 that have now been disabled.
Previously, Bungie had to consecutively remove two of the three new armor Exotics of the current season from the game for similar reasons. Just before the start of the Trials, the Exotic chest piece Raijus Harness was locked. About 2 weeks later, the Warlock armor Exotic Felwinter’s Helm followed.
This phenomenon is therefore not new, just like the associated problems. Because it seems that the glitches surrounding the affected Exotics are very similar in their mechanics and can be triggered in comparable ways – just with different items.
What do the players say? This means that a total of 4 armor Exotics have now been locked in Season 10, while only 3 new exotic armor pieces were introduced. Many players are now mocking this, seeing it as indicative of the current state of Destiny 2. However, some jokingly remark that in the end, this is certainly all Telesto’s fault.
Additionally, some emphasize that the two currently affected Exotics are not the first, but that Wurmgott-Berührung is now the fourth, and Winterlist the third deactivation of the respective Exo piece – and all for the same reason.
Some fans thus believe that Bungie does not learn from its mistakes. They argue that the phenomenon itself and the corresponding mechanic are basically always the same.
Moreover, it is criticized that Bungie reacts quickly to errors that provide players with advantages, while fixes for other annoying bugs or issues can take several months or even years, which is the general sentiment.
