In Destiny 2, the annoying overload champions are becoming bolder and driving players insane. They are hardly impressed by disruptions, and even if they are, they continue to shoot coldly or dodge cheekily. What is wrong with these disturbed champions?
“How good it is that there is infinite kinetic ammunition in Destiny 2,” many players are surely thinking by now. At least it makes the fight against the rampaging overload champions a bit more bearable. But it does not change the fact that players have been trolled by the crazy overload champions for almost 7 months. No matter where you encounter the champions, they are completely insane.
What is wrong with them?
- Overload champions, especially captains, quickly heal back to full health, despite the disruption buff.
- Once disturbed, they become cheeky and shoot back like crazy.
- Cooldown? These champions don’t know it, but they can dodge perfectly.
- Overload champions also teleport around wildly and take cover.
- Stasis makes the problem even worse.
It is primarily the overload captains in Destiny 2 who simply do not want to die. And that, despite players doing everything right. How hard it is to deal with them right now is also shown by the PvE god Esoterickk in one of his latest videos.

Disruption mechanics are not triggered correctly: Players report that they often hear the disruption sound, rely on it, but the champion is not stopped at all. Or the timing does not align between disruption and effect. The endgame enemies feel so broken because of this.
Players want a nerf for these enemies
Why has the problem been in the game for so long and not been fixed, players wonder. Is it supposed to be this way? Is it intentional by Bungie for the overload champions to react this way? Hardly believable, as the encounters are in many situations way too harsh for Bungie to have intended it this way.
The community hopes not only for a patch: Many players now believe that these tough enemies fundamentally need a nerf. Overload champions are too strong in their opinion and far too often not beatable, even without their crazy behavior.

Overload captains are by far the most annoying champions/enemies in all of Destiny. They seriously need to be nerfed a bit and are super buggy.
User kgosietsile sere replies: “Having two overload champs side by side is the worst. Constant stuns then make them ‘unstunned’ and they return to full health faster than the speed of light. It’s a bug that needs to be fixed.”
Especially because Esoterickk is now prominently drawing attention to it, it shows: These overload champions actually do not belong in the game, but in a straightjacket.

When will the obvious problem be fixed? Bungie has not reacted at all so far to the fact that their overload champions are rampaging in the game. And that, despite the problem having existed since Season 14. The community has pointed this out multiple times on reddit and in the Bungie support forum. However, so far the developer has not added this issue to the list of known problems. Players are now hoping that the problematic situation might get more attention thanks to the influential YouTuber.
Player kf jokingly comments: “I now know why Bungie gave us infinite primary ammunition, so we can work overtime on stunning. Yes! Just stunning, let them regenerate, don’t kill them lol.”
