In Destiny 2 you can now see a new cutscene. But instead of the spectacular finale of Season 10, a dark announcement awaits you.
This is what you can see now: When you start Destiny 2, a short but atmospheric cutscene greets you. You don’t have to do anything else but log in to the game to enjoy it.
In the sequence, we see the emptiness of space. To eerie music, the camera zooms closer to Jupiter. From the shadows, a spaceship emerges, in the shape of a pyramid – and cut.

Thus, a leak from April 2020 is confirmed. At the same time, the theory that our adversary, the Darkness, is now virtually knocking at our door is confirmed. In the Destiny universe, the threatening pyramid ships represent the Darkness. Guardians have waited almost 6 years for this arrival, but the wait may soon be over.
What could be behind this? Season 10 is in its final week, then the yet unknown new season will start. Currently, it can only be speculated whether we will face the Darkness as early as June 9.
Over the past months, the arrival of the pyramid ships has been hinted at everywhere:

- In the campaign of Shadowkeep, players recover an artifact from an ancient pyramid on the moon
- In the throne room of Mara Sov, players discovered the pyramids
- In the story of Season of the Worthy, Rasputin shows us holograms of the ships
- In the game itself, there is a kind of doomsday clock, on which the dark fleet gets closer each week
Are we going to deal with the pyramid ships faster than expected – namely in summer and not just with the big autumn expansion? Last season, there was a similar cutscene: Back then, Osiris encountered Rasputin. What was teased there has become the story of the current Season 10.
What about the finale of Season 10?
This is the cutscene players are waiting for: With all the dark signs and flying shadows, we should not forget that an immediate threat is looming over us in Destiny: the celestial force crashing down on Earth. At the start of Season 10, we witnessed how the massive fleet ship of the Cabal was on a collision course with us.
For good 3 months now, we have been arming the warmind Rasputin, who is supposed to blow the flagship out of orbit for us. Recently, the powerless threat has also been visible from the Last City. So, where is the explosive finale?
We may have to wait a few more days until the warmind finally feels ready to save Earth. Currently, Ana only tells us in conversation that Rasputin’s defense systems have been completely activated.
