In Destiny 2, Guardians have earned, discovered, and unlocked many things. However, one thing has imprinted itself in the memory so vividly that Guardians cannot forget it. Do you remember the secret content from the Destiny universe?
What are secret missions? These secret missions are missions that are not immediately obvious. They must first be activated under certain circumstances, such as interacting with a specific mechanic or participating in an event.
In such content and missions, Guardians are thrown in without prior knowledge or objectives and must prove their skills. If the Guardians succeed in these secret contents, they are rewarded with amazing loot. This includes ships or an Exo weapon.
Players want to discover hidden content
The problem, however, is that Bungie has not released such content to the same extent since the separation from Activision as it did in the early years of Destiny 1 and 2. Many Guardians reminisce about the time when the tension on the Moon IO was at its peak.
A sudden portal to a mission appeared when one defeated a corrupted boss during a public event. Through this mission, one was sent on a parkour path with enemies, until finally facing three challenging bosses.
If you managed to complete everything in under 20 minutes, you received the exotic sniper “Whisper of the Worm“, which at the time was a must-have in the Guardians’ loadout.
Not only this mission, but also the Zero Hour activity on the Farm, which Mithrax assigned you to acquire the exotic pulse rifle “Perfected Outbreak“, was secret and eerie at the same time. Many Guardians still remember the maintenance bot “Trevor” in the Labyrinth.
What do players say about this? Guardians on reddit are reminiscing. They wish for more such content that gives them the feeling of not having explored everything already. Destiny 2 offers so much room for mysteries that can still be unveiled, yet everything seems to be superficially packaged at present.
Reddit user and Guardian CaptFrost states the following: “I know that Bungie has to build hype around content, but I would love it if they could occasionally sneak in such things. Something that simply appears out of nowhere and can be discovered organically by players.”
Places like the sand-buried Mars city “Freehold” or larger parts of Earth provide enough room to sneak in secret missions. It’s yet to be seen whether Bungie could change this in the future, but the possibilities are open; they just need to be seized.
