In Destiny 2, there are always new features and emotes that spice up the gameplay and give Guardians opportunities to express themselves and have fun. However, a newly discovered emote combination is truly something else: Guardians can now throw alien babies!
This is a new hobby that Guardians have now: The Guardian Games 2023 in Destiny 2 are currently taking place. But players have completely different things on their minds that they can do in-game.
By a funny coincidence, a new, albeit macabre, “minigame” has been discovered in Destiny 2: Alien Baby Throwing.
Since then, sweet and innocent Eliksni babies have not only been thrown through the air as if they were harmless balls. The cute little ones are even thrown coldly into deep chasms.
On Reddit, Guardian Zao_ambrosia shared a short video showing him performing the dark deed to the song Fly like an Eagle
, from the Space Jam
soundtrack, throwing the sweet, innocent specimens off the Tower of the Last City. In the end, his Guardian makes a triumphant gesture. He comments, “Love this emote now.”
How does one come up with such an idea? Well, throwing Guardians with Eliksni babies was surely not intended by Bungie, – but it works anyway. A “free throw” makes it possible.
More specifically: the combination of two emotes. By keeping part of the first emote active and shortly thereafter activating the second one, a completely new action is created. This has been possible in Destiny 2 for a while, but it has never been this crazy before.
- For the throw to succeed, you need to have the exotic emote
Schlüpflinghaufen
together with the rare emoteFreiwurf
and then just combine them.
Players are now throwing everything else away: But that’s not all that can now be thrown thanks to the new emote “Freiwurf”. Guardians have also tried throwing all other emote combos after the alien babies.
For instance, player TrentIsNotHere noted that it also works with the emote “Kätzische Kunst”. This means you can also throw cats. Only one thing was spared – Cayde-6’s Colonel. This chicken is still not ready to jump off the cliff in 2023.
However, dribbling worms also works well, as you can see here:
Some see the action critically: However, this new occupation of Guardians is also seen critically, even though the video has received over 2.7k upvotes so far.
For example, the Guardian iGingerWaltonSt posted under the Reddit post the hashtag #JusticeForEliksniBabys. After all, throwing the babies could be interpreted as violence against these innocent creatures.
However, it can also be viewed from the other side: It’s just a game! And it was almost to be expected that some Guardians would delight in now being able to throw sweet and innocent creatures off the Tower.
No matter how you look at it: Guardians have once again managed to turn a seemingly harmless action from Bungie into a new way to have fun. And who knows, maybe “alien baby throwing” will soon become the new trend in Destiny 2.
Do you have both emotes in your possession and will you try this combination now? What do you think you can throw? Or is that too wild for you? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
