In Destiny 2, a Guardian has already managed to reach the new max power level of 650 in less than two days. Now, he has spoken out and provided a detailed description.
On December 4, 2018, the new DLC “The Black Armory” was launched in Destiny 2. At the same time, the level cap was raised from power level 600 to 650. However, while some Guardians were still struggling to get over 615 even three days after the DLC launched, the player Schendziee had already broken the new max level on the second day.
Reaching the Level Cap in Two Days – Here’s How It Happened
What happened? Countless fans were shocked when, on December 5, 2018, the Guardian Schendziee proudly showcased his Warlock on YouTube. Because with this character, he reached the new power level cap of 650 in less than two full days.

What makes this so special? Hardly anyone could understand how Schendziee managed to reach the new max level so quickly.
As Schendziee initially did not provide an explanation and plays on PC, Guardians formed their own theories and speculations, even accusations of cheating were raised. However, he recently spoke out in a detailed Reddit post and explained how he accomplished this mammoth task so quickly.
How Schendziee did it: According to him, the key to reaching the max level quickly lay in a mix of preparation and grind. Without meticulous planning, this achievement would not have been possible.
This also confirmed one of the prevailing fan theories. He had indeed saved all bounties with powerful rewards that he could hold onto – just as some fans had already suspected. These included:
- weekly Gambit bounties
- Ascendant challenges (just don’t redeem them)
- large Spider bounties
- Iron Banner bounties
- raid challenges
- some other quests with powerful rewards (like “Complete a PvP match in full PvP gear”)
- top weapon quests (just wait for a match before you get them)
- exotic quests like the “Pikass”
- raid keys (each key guarantees a +3 power drop)
- rank increases in Gambit and the Crucible
- weekly bounties from Ikora and Hawthorne
After the reset on December 4, he first completed all new weekly and daily bounties. Then he redeemed his accumulated bounties. With 15 powerful rewards, he reached 617 with his first character.
Then he switched to his second character, equipped him as much as possible, and farmed all possible sources, including the raid and the new “forging the chain” activity. Especially the forging weapons, all powerful drops, were particularly valuable for his third character.
Finally, he switched to his third character. The most important thing now was to get over 644 and save high drops. From then on, a lot depended on loot luck, according to Schendziee. Primus engrams, exotics, the forging weapons – all of this would drop at 650. One just needs to be lucky and get the right items together.
As he reached about 646, he entered the Forsaken Raid Last Wish. Through the drops and the chests, he easily reached 649. He then continued playing until he had a 650-item in every slot. He also managed this comparatively quickly and thus reached 650.
