The second DLC for Destiny 2, Warmind, brought PvP leaderboards where exclusive rewards can be earned. Bungie is now considering reducing the grind for rank increases in the leaderboards.
The DLC Warmind introduced PvP leaderboards to Destiny 2, where points for rank advancement can be earned through won matches. This allows Guardians to obtain special rewards, such as the Redrix’s Claymore pulse rifle, which is restricted to the competitive playlist in the Crucible. The grind to achieve the different ranks in the leaderboards might soon become a bit easier.

Bungie is considering changes to the leaderboards
Path to “Famous” is too steep: On Twitter, Bungie’s Senior Multiplayer Designer Kevin Yanes recently mentioned that he thinks it’s cool to have given players something to chase after with the PvP-exclusive rewards.
However, the studio believes that the path to the rank “Famous,” where you can snag the Redrix’s Claymore in the competitive leaderboard, is too long.
In this season, no changes will be made, but it was stated in the tweet that appropriate actions will be taken in the future. It is possible that a reduction in the required points could take effect with the start of the fourth season and the Forsaken expansion.
Only a few players have the exclusive weapon: Bungie recently released statistics for the third season of Destiny 2. Among other things, it was about the Redrix’s Claymore, for which Guardians must reach the fourth of a total of six ranks in the competitive Glory leaderboard.
The Redrix’s Claymore is a legendary pulse rifle equipped with the perk “Desperado.” This increases the rate of fire of the weapon after reloading while the perk “Outlaw” is active. Meanwhile, the weapon fires like a rapid-fire pulse rifle for 7 seconds but retains the damage of a high-impact rifle.
To date, only 8,750 players have enriched their arsenal with this pulse rifle. Quite few, considering that over 190,000 players already possess the Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle, whose quest was only recently discovered.
What do you think? Is the ascent in the leaderboards really too difficult, or should such rewards remain hard to achieve?
