In Destiny 2, you should also have an incentive to collect XP beyond the level cap. Because for XP, you will receive white Engrams (Shiny Engrams)!
In Destiny 2, you will need experience points (XP) to level up, just like in Destiny 1. You get this XP whenever you defeat enemies or complete challenges.
However, at some point you will reach the level cap, the maximum level. Then you no longer need experience points to level up. What is the point of XP then?
In Destiny 1, you could collect XP beyond the level cap to fill an XP bar. When this bar was full, you received Light particles. In Destiny 2, there is a different reward for that: White Engrams, which are called “Shiny Engrams”.
Bright Engrams and Prestigious Gear
Gaming sites like IGN and Gameinformer have been able to thoroughly explore the European Dead Zone of Destiny 2 and discover things that were previously unknown.
Thus, “Bright Engrams” have been sighted, representing “bright” or “radiant” Engrams, depicted with a white Engram symbol:
These Engrams are introduced as follows: You receive Bright Engrams by leveling up. They contain items with which you can customize your character. Tess Everis can decrypt them – Tess is the woman from the “Eververse” in Destiny 1.
In other words, these white Engrams contain exclusively cosmetic items, with which you can personalize your Guardians.
According to IGN, you also receive these special Engrams after reaching the level cap when you fill the XP bar. They are intended to create an additional incentive to continue playing in the endgame.
Presumably, you will also be able to purchase the white Engrams from Tess Everis if she is the contact person for that. However, this has not been confirmed. Which cosmetic items are included is also still unknown. Presumably shaders, sparrows, ghost shells, etc.
Additionally: In this screenshot, you can see that the white Engrams can apparently also be obtained through activities like Flashpoints. Here the reward “Prestigious Gear” is mentioned, which means “Prestige Gear”. The symbol is identical to that of the white Engrams.
What do you think about the white Engrams?
Interesting: PC players love the Destiny 2 beta – Some console veterans are envious
