In Destiny 2, the hardest PvE players have to prove themselves in the Glass Chamber on Grandmaster difficulty. We will tell you what is different about the new difficulty and what the new time-lost weapons as rewards are all about.
Starting from July 6, the Glass Chamber will be significantly harder. You can now prove yourselves in Hard-Mode, specifically on Grandmaster, in the Cult Raid. Bungie is making this highlight of Season 14 more attractive for you with powerful weapons and a lot of prestige, if you are tough enough.
This is different on Grandmaster in the Glass Chamber:
- Enemies are at Power level 1,350 (the raid normally starts at 1,300).
- You do not need a minimum level to participate. However, you should bring your power as close as possible to 1,350 through seasonal artifacts and gear – theoretically, you can even exceed that level, which is possible in contrast to the Flawless difficulty.
- In the raid itself, you can expect more champions and additional modifiers that will make life extra hard for you.
- However, the Glass Chamber in Hard-Mode shouldn’t be as tough as the Flawless Trial (1,360).
These new rewards are available: If you take on the new challenges of the Glass Chamber, you will of course get something for your efforts. Only on Grandmaster will you receive time-lost weapons and the chance for raid armor with very high specializations in a stat value.
On top of that, you can only earn the title “Fatebreaker” on Grandmaster. If you complete all raid triumphs, you can adorn yourself with this title and all other guardians will see what a tough cookie you are. The raid on Grandmaster also gives you access to an exclusive ship:
Time-lost Weapons in Destiny 2 – What Can the “New” Raid Loot Do?
The biggest incentive to experience or better survive the Glass Chamber on Grandmaster is the time-lost weapons.
As a special feature, the time-lost raid weapons offer 2 additional perks. You have the choice of two options for the 3rd and 4th slots. Otherwise, you can compare them with the master weapons from the Trials or Flawless, Bungie says. Whether the time-lost weapons can also utilize the exclusive master mods and receive a bonus to all stat values as a masterpiece is uncertain, but quite likely.
The two additional perks are really useful, allowing you to have a Fatebringer with the classic Explosive Load + Firefly and switch to Tunnel Vision + Kill Clip if needed. This way, you have a weapon for multiple situations or an extra chance at the God roll.
Here’s how to get time-lost raid weapons: You receive time-lost weapons in the Glass Chamber when you complete one of the raid challenges on Grandmaster.
- Every week, there is such a challenge in an encounter of the raid. These challenges rotate with each weekly reset (on Tuesday) and each challenge rewards you with a different time-lost weapon.
- If you get one of the raid weapons as a time-lost variant, you can buy additional rolls even after Atheon’s death from the last chest. However, this costs a bit more conquest loot than the normal versions of the raid weapons.
- Bungie warns, however: The Glass Chamber shares the loot on Grandmaster and Normal Mode. If you complete the raid challenge on normal, you will not receive a time-lost weapon in Hard-Mode. This also applies to the hidden raid chests – you can only open these once a week.
Whether the raid exotic has a higher drop chance after completing the Hard-Mode run, we unfortunately cannot tell you. But you should prepare yourself to need a lot of luck and help from “RN-Jesus” to obtain the exotic after the kill of Atheon.

What’s coming besides the raid difficulty? Along with the Hard-Mode for the Glass Chamber on July 6, much more is coming for the Guardians. The mid-season update of Season 14 brings a ton of stuff that should give the Guardians reasons to log in:
- Bungie is revamping the sandbox with update 3.2.1 and nerfing the strongest weapons, with exotic changes included
- The summer event “Solenwende of Heroes” starts and offers you splendid armor and this time even a new gun
- 12 old weapons will be upgraded making old DLC locations interesting again.
