Until now, the content for the second year of Destiny 2 had only been roughly outlined. Now Bungie has elaborated on what Guardians can expect in Year 2 until August 2019.
To give Guardians a better look at the planned content flow in Year 2, Bungie released a gameplay calendar that includes the key events through August 2019. The studio shows what all Destiny 2 players, Forsaken owners, and Season Pass buyers can expect in detail. This is the way Destiny 2 will progress until autumn 2019.
These are the key dates of Season 5 in Destiny 2

With the Forsaken expansion, Destiny 2 began its second year. By now, Season 5, the Season of the Forge, has started. On December 4, the first premium DLC “The Black Armory” will be released for all Annual Pass holders.
But what exactly can Guardians expect in the Season of the Forge and in the context of the Black Armory? These are the key events from December 2018 through February 2019.
For all Destiny 2 players as part of Season 5 (regardless of other additional content):
- dawning event starting December 11, 2018. This is a Winter Festival in Destiny 2
- New decoration rewards
- New triumphs and lore
- New rank rewards for Gambit, Crucible, and Vanguard
- The Iron Banner – a PvP event where power level advantages are active
- The Crimson Days event starting February 5, 2019. The Crimson Days is a Valentine’s event in Destiny 2
For Forsaken owners as part of Season 5:
- An increase in the maximum power level to 650

For all Guardians with Annual Pass as part of the Black Armory:
- Access to the Black Armory and corresponding weapons and armor starting December 4
- Volundr Forge starting December 4. This is the first of four forges that will go live with the new DLC
- New raid “Scourge of the Past” starting December 7. This is a fully-fledged new raid, not a raid encounter
- Gofannon Forge starting December 7. The second of the four forges will be accessible
- Izanami Forge starting December 18. This is the third forge
- Niobe Labs starting January 8, 2019. This lab is the fourth and final forge that goes live in Season 5
- Exotic quest “The Draw” starting January 29, 2019. This is presumably the quest for the exotic hand cannon “The Last Word”. This is suggested by a leak as well as the quest image in the official Bungie materials
- Additional new triumphs and lore books related to events surrounding the Black Armory
By the way: According to the Blizzard Shop, Season 5 will end on March 4, 2019. The PvP pinnacle activity Trials of the Nine and the Faction Rallies will not return in Season 5.
