In Destiny 2, a brand new event – a “Clarion Call” – starts in a week.
In mid-October, TwitchCon 2017 took place, where Bungie introduced some new features for Season 2. The term “Clarion Call” was also mentioned.
A Clarion Call is a limited-time event that grants XP bonuses. If you complete certain tasks, you will receive additional experience points.
As Bungie now announces, you don’t have to wait until Season 2 to participate in the first Clarion Call. This event starts for the first time next week.
This is the first Clarion Call in Destiny 2
This Clarion Call is a kind of weekend event:
- It starts on November 17 at 7 PM (Friday)
- It ends on November 20 at 7 PM (Monday)
During this time, you can earn double XP in all kinds of activities. So if you want to farm Glimmer Engrams, this is your time.
However, there is one condition:
If you are not in a clan yet, Bungie suggests that this is the perfect time to join one. Months ago, the developers shared that they want to create many incentives for Guardians to experience Destiny 2 together in clans. The big goal is for as few Guardians as possible to wander through the Destiny universe alone.
If you play Destiny 2 solely solo, then you will not benefit from this Clarion Call. However, in the future, more Clarion Calls will take place that do not require clan membership.
In the first hours of Destiny 2, you need experience points to level up your character. Once you reach the maximum level of 20, you can earn Glimmer Engrams with experience points. Each time the XP bar fills up, you will receive a Glimmer Engram.
Glimmer Engrams primarily contain cosmetic items like shaders, emotes, or sparrows. These can not only be earned but also purchased with real money in the Eververse.
