If you want to further improve the icy Stasis powers of the Guardians in Destiny 2 after obtaining them, you currently have to struggle through lengthy, confusing quest lines. Bungie, however, intends to improve this soon.
This is Stasis: Stasis is a relatively new damage type that was introduced with the Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light. This element exists as both a focus of the Guardian powers and as a damage type on certain weapons in the game. It embodies ice and frost.
What is the deal with improvement? You obtain these powers by completing the Beyond Light campaign and mastering some additional tasks. Afterwards, you can use aspects and fragments of this power to enhance it, thereby unlocking further specializations of this power and thus tailor Stasis to your individual playstyle.
What many find annoying: Further fragments and aspects are hidden behind lengthy and very convoluted task chains. You also never really see how far along you are in the quest and how much longer you have to work for each respective improvement. It is also not clearly presented which aspects and fragments even exist – especially for new players.
Bungie’s Plan to Optimize the Stasis Experience
As the developers recently explained in their “This Week at Bungie” blog, the studio is aware of these weaknesses and wants to improve all of this soon – already in the upcoming Season 15, which starts on August 24.
The following changes are planned:
- The Exo Stranger on Europa, the point of contact for Stasis, will provide more information on how to complete tasks required to acquire Stasis.
- Guardians who have completed the “Beyond Light” campaign and visit the Exo Stranger will be able to see the complete path to unlock the aspects and fragments.
- Additionally, many prerequisites for acquiring and completing the “Born in Darkness” quest line will be made simpler or completely removed. So far, Guardians had to complete numerous quest lines to obtain the exotic Stasis grenade launcher “Griff der Erlösung” before they could receive additional Stasis powers.
- Guardians who have finished the Beyond Light campaign will be able to access the “Born in Darkness” quest line directly with the Exo Stranger on Europa.
- The Exo Stranger will also display every fragment that has not yet been obtained, no matter how far you are in the “Born in Darkness” quest line. This way, you will get a preview of all the powers that you can unlock.
Bungie wants to ensure that even more Guardians will unlock the icy powers.
What do you think of these adjustments? And how do you see the upcoming Season 15 and the changes that come with it in general? Let us and other readers of MeinMMO know in the comments.
