Destiny 2: Are unique emotes and ornaments coming for factions? [Update]

In Destiny 2, there could soon be emotes, ornaments, and catalysts for the factions. This is suggested by the discovery of a data miner.

Bungie seems to have more in store for the factions in the current third season of Destiny 2. A Reddit user discovered new items on the Destiny DB website that could play a role in upcoming faction rallies. Destiny DB searches the API of the Destiny games and can access upcoming items.

Are there going to be specific emotes for factions?

What has been found? The Reddit user Blastingdunny found several items in the database that he has associated with the factions. These could play a role in upcoming group fights in Destiny 2.

Emotes for all three factions and for the Iron Banner have been identified:

• “Sign of the Future” for the Future War Cult
• “A Toast to the Monarch” for the New Monarchy
• “Arach Greeting” for the Dead Orbit
• “Salute of the Lords”, an exotic gesture attributed to the Iron Banner

It sounds like these are special greetings associated with the factions. Unfortunately, there is still no preview of the emotes, so players will have to wait until the gestures are actually in the game.

Ornaments and Exotic Catalysts

Furthermore, Blastingdunny found an item bundle from the Iron Banner event in the databases, which included a weapon ornament for the exotic grenade launcher Lion’s Roar and some consumables. This bundle may be available through Eververse, but could also be a reward for a rank-up in the Iron Banner.

Next, the Redditor found more ornaments for exotic armors, which he associated with the various factions. The Future War Cult might receive an ornament for the Hunter helm Weakmind Radar named “Predestination”, while the Dead Orbit tempts with “Gaze into Other Worlds” for the Warlock helm Eye of Another World.

Titans are well-suited with the New Monarchy, which might soon offer an ornament for the chest piece Emblem of Alpha Lupi. However, there is still no preview for this item.

Interestingly, it seems that catalysts for exotic masterworks are also faction-bound. According to the Reddit post, the catalyst for the exotic hand cannon Sunshot is available at the Future War Cult, the one for the Workhorse is with the New Monarchy, and the catalyst for the Graviton Lance is with the Dead Orbit.

This means that players could potentially see which faction the items belong to.

Whether all this will actually come true and if the faction events will soon be expanded with new items is still not officially known.

Update 23.05.18: The Iron Banner emote “Salute of the Lords” was introduced with the start of the first Iron Banner of the third season. Currently, the emote is only available for real money in Eververse.
