In this guide, we explain step by step how to get The Chaperon – an exotic shotgun from the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2.
Forsaken brought numerous new weapon exotics to the game – including The Chaperon. Destiny 1 veterans may already know this pump-action shotgun. The Chaperon made its debut with “King’s Fall”. With the autumn expansion, the weapon is returning. What you need to do to get this shotgun in Destiny 2: Forsaken is explained here.
Your path to The Chaperon – explained step by step
What is The Chaperon? It is an exotic shotgun that is classified in the kinetic slot. In Destiny 2, you receive it by completing a multi-part PvP quest.
Step 1: First, you need to get the quest “Holliday Family History”. This can be the longest step in the entire questline. The quest itself drops randomly.

Some players report that they receive the quest after matches in the Crucible. However, there are also fans who claim they got the quest upon reaching character level 50 or simply in the orbit. The PvP seems to be a reliable source for this. Play Crucible matches – you will receive it sooner or later.
Step 2: Go see Amanda in the Tower hangar. The good lady is hard to miss as she is marked with a quest marker.
Step 3: Now you need to defeat 20 enemies with shotgun kills in the Crucible. You can use any shotgun for this. The Tractor Cannon and the Legend of Acrius also count.

Step 4: Now you need to achieve Arc, Solar, and Void kills in PvP. Each kill with an element – whether with weapons, through abilities, or Super – gives you 5% progress for that element. If you die, you lose 1%. Once you have brought one element to 100%, you can no longer lose progress for that element. This is fastest if you work through element by element.
Step 5: Next, you need 15 Guardian kills in Gambit mode. It doesn’t matter if you take out Invaders or go to the enemy team yourself.
Step 6: Finally, you need to return to Amanda Holliday in the Tower. There you will receive The Chaperon.
