The fact that Forsaken, the best expansion of Destiny 2, will soon move to the content vault has been met with mixed feelings by the community. In December, the last opportunity for interested players to experience this entire story for free will be available and properly say goodbye to the Tangled Shore, the Scorn Barons, and Bungie’s coolest gunslinger of all time.
These contents will leave Destiny 2:
- Season 12 to 15
- The Destiny 2: Forsaken campaign including the location Tangled Shore
- The exotic missions “Omen” and “Foreboding”
The complete Destiny 2: Forsaken campaign can be played for free (free2play) from December 7, 2021, to February 22, 2022, the launch of the new expansion “The Witch Queen”.
Here’s why you shouldn’t miss it: For long-time players, the Forsaken campaign has a high emotional value. It is not only the best expansion Destiny 2 has had so far but also a milestone for many Destiny fans. It also contains important story details that play a very significant role in the storyline of the current Season 15.
Playing the Forsaken campaign will shed new light on Uldren Sov/Crow’s backstory for every player. It is closely tied to Crow’s character development and also explains why currently no one represents the Hunter faction at the Vanguard.
Especially for free2play players, it is worth playing the campaign if they appreciate excellent gameplay with a good story and want to learn more about Destiny and its past. It is also a good entry point for newcomers to Destiny 2.
These contents will not be included:
- The raid “Last Wish”
- The dungeon “The Shattered Throne”
- Exotics from Forsaken
For this purpose, Bungie will offer players a complementary Forsaken pack that grants access to these raid and dungeon contents as well as all Forsaken exotics. It also includes three so-called Forsaken cipher. Important for all who have already purchased the Forsaken DLC: The three Forsaken ciphers will also be given to players who have already purchased Forsaken. If you already own all Forsaken exotics, the ciphers will automatically be converted into Ascendant Shards, and you can spend them elsewhere. Therefore, you do not have to repurchase Forsaken to play the campaign again and receive the ciphers.
