In Destiny 2, Bungie changed the Nightfall last night. The reason is that weeks ago, thousands of Guardians farmed a weapon, the T.V.O., for no reason. It’s not that great anymore.
Mean Bug at the end of May: At the end of May, the strike “Tree of Probabilities” was the current Nightfall. It offers a special reward, the hand cannon T.V.O. It’s only available when the strike is the weekly Nightfall strike. Because Bungie supposedly fixed a bug beforehand, thousands of Guardians rushed into the strike to farm the exclusive hand cannon.
20 hours and more – Guardians in grind fever: The trust in Bungie backfired. The hunt for the hand cannon was unsuccessful for many. Despite the patch, the exclusive rewards were still bugged. The hand cannon did not drop at the planned rate, but much less frequently, almost not at all. Frustrated Guardians exchanged experiences in forums that they had spent 20 or more hours in the strike: the weapon just wouldn’t drop.
I want this weapon: For this moment, the T.V.O. was the ultimate status symbol of every Guardian. Those who had it were something special.
Change as compensation: After a hotfix on June 6 resolved the issue, the strike “Tree of Probabilities” was no longer a Nightfall strike. The strike and its exclusive reward would not be selected as Nightfall again for weeks. Therefore, Bungie promised to make the strike Nightfall again soon.
Initially disappointed, then all clear: When the reset went live yesterday, the Guardians were initially disappointed but then relieved. Although another Nightfall was active at first, Bungie quickly changed the Nightfall strike as promised to “Tree of Probabilities.”
Is the weapon worth it?
Guardians could now receive the TVO again: The once-rare weapon T.V.O., which players hunted in vain at the end of May and grinded hour after hour, is now reachable again. Some have already received it on their first attempts, while others take longer.
How strong is the TVO? The weapon is not really special. It was only sought after because it was so rare to obtain. In light of this, it’s simply a hand cannon. For some, it ranks among the best in the game, while for others, it is categorized somewhere as “solid.” However, the TVO is not a “must-have” weapon. This is not a weapon in Destiny 2. Because one of the hardest criticisms of Destiny 2 remains that weapons without the Random Rolls are no longer special. The once highly sought-after T.V.O. seems to be no exception.
