In Destiny 2, the release of Curse of Osiris is approaching. There will be a preload available.
The first expansion of Destiny 2 is near: “Curse of Osiris” will be released on December 5, 2017, simultaneously on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will continue the Guardian’s journey.
Bungie has now revealed the important information about the release day.
Before the release of Curse of Osiris, the servers will be down
On Tuesday, December 5, there will be maintenance. The exact start and end times are still missing, but Bungie expects it to be from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Once the maintenance is completed, you can launch Curse of Osiris.
Preload for Curse of Osiris
So you can get started right away when the servers come back online, there will be a preload. However, you will need a fast internet connection, as the preload will also begin on December 5.
On December 5, starting from 5 PM, the preload will be available. You will have about two hours to download the necessary game data if you want to jump in immediately.
The size of the download is not yet known. Bungie only specifies the required storage requirements that you must meet for the download:
- PlayStation 4: 88 GB
- Xbox One: 44 GB
- PC: 68 GB
You will not have to download such large amounts of data on Tuesday. You only need to meet these storage requirements. This is the total amount of storage space that Destiny 2 along with the DLC will take up.
Update: It is said that depending on your platform, it will be about 6 GB.
What do I need to know about Curse of Osiris?
Curse of Osiris is the first expansion of Destiny 2, which is included in the season pass or can be purchased separately.
This DLC tells a new story about Osiris, Mercury, and the Vex. Once, Mercury was transformed into a great garden by the Traveler, but the Vex turned the planet into a machine world. Now a new danger is arising there, and you will need Osiris’s help to stop the Vex.
The main new features:
- New story missions
- Mercury as a new planet and the Lighthouse as a social space
- The Infinite Forest: Here, the Vex simulate different realities in different times. It is a PvE activity with high replayability
- Heroic Strikes and two new strikes are coming
- The raid will be expanded with a raid lair
- New PvP maps
- New weapons and armor – including Vex weapons that you can obtain through quests.
- The power level will be raised to 335.

Important information: Starting from December 5, the reset times will change. Then the weekly reset will no longer be at 10 AM, but at 6 PM. You can read more about the reset times here.
