The sequel to Destiny 2 is gaining momentum: The first official teaser is here.
Today, on March 27th at 7 PM, Bungie released the first official teaser for Destiny 2. It is an image they published via Twitter.
It features the Destiny logo with a large “2” behind it. In the background is the Traveler and below it the Last City, which appears to be under attack and being destroyed. Smoke is rising, and the atmosphere is dark.
We don’t have more information on this yet. This image was tweeted without comment.
The Last City is on fire? That sounds familiar.
Important note: The following images are no longer part of the official announcement!
Months ago, in the summer of 2016, there were “leaks” about Destiny 2 that turned out to be “scrapped concept art.” These images showed a similar setting to the official image now: dark colors and the Last City in flames.
We embed this scrapped concept art here again:
The design of the “2” from Destiny 2 was also revealed as part of this leak:
What might be particularly interesting: This setting of the burning Last City aligns with the setting of the “scrapped concept art.” This could mean that the concepts for new focuses and super attacks that came to light with this leak might also be accurate:
Are the Cabal attacking the Last City?
At the beginning of 2017, there was a “Mega Bloks” leak that suggested that the Cabal would attack the Last City and it would be up to the Guardians to stop this invasion. Lord Shaxx is said to play an important role. Together with him, you must eliminate the Cleavers of the Cabal’s “Red Guard.”
With the new image, it looks like this leak is becoming more likely. However, none of this is officially confirmed yet. Officially, we only have this one image from Bungie, which you see at the top of the article.
We will update here when new information becomes available.
