The new TWaB from Destiny 2 has been released and Bungie goes through this in detail about how you will get your forged weapons soon. We at MeinMMO summarize all the important details for you.
What is the new Forge? The Forge will be a new place where you will have the opportunity to forge your own God Rolls. Many variations will be possible to give your gun your own touch. This workshop will appear with Witch Queen on February 22, 2022.
How you will be able to Forge
Bungie calls the place where the Forge is located “The Enclave”. As you venture through the first missions, you will become familiar with this new location. At or on the Enclave is the new Forge where you will be shaping your God Rolls.
Is there a tutorial? In the first mission of Witch Queen, accessible to all players, you will discover a new ability called “Deep Sight” and then get acquainted with the Enclave. At this point in the mission, you will forge your first glaive.
For crafting the glaive, the first materials will be provided to you. Despite the supplied resources, Bungie will guide you and explain how to obtain the individual materials.
Are all crafting options already unlocked? You will initially receive a small starter aid in the form of already learned weapons and archetypes. This list will be expanded in the future by Bungie.
However, to forge your weapons, you need to find the corresponding weapon patterns. You will be able to obtain these as rewards from quests, completing triumphs, or other unspecified objectives. After you have learned such a pattern, you can immediately start forging the weapon.
How do I get traits for weapons? You must learn perks over the course of your gameplay, and you will do this in the form of random loot equipped with the ability “Deep Sight Resonance”. These weapons are marked with a red frame on the icon to make them recognizable.
So, if you have obtained such a weapon, you only need to feed it. If you have found an auto rifle with Kill Clip that also has the ability “Deep Sight Resonance”, you simply need to complete the associated task to complete the resonance.
Once you have done that, you can extract the essence of the perk and transfer it to another weapon. Not every perk will be able to connect with every weapon. However, Bungie has ensured a wide selection.
Can I still “masterwork” my weapon? You will not only be able to turn your weapon into a masterwork, but also the associated perks. As Bungie has already mentioned, it should be noticeable that you are also the master of your firearm.
If you use your weapon for an extended period and kill enemies with it, you will level up not only yourself but also your gun. Once you reach a high weapon level, you will have the opportunity to further improve your perks.
These improved perks give you a small bonus to the selected perks. Whether modifications such as the damage from the Vorpal weapon are increased or the overall weapon stats benefit from it is not yet known.
Memories – Activity Tracker and Ornaments
You will not only be able to choose perks freely, but also unlock several cosmetic items throughout your Guardian career in Witch Queen. Ornaments and trackers that fit activities will adorn your weapon.
If you play Gambit extensively, you will earn these items over time. However, these cosmetic details can only be applied when your weapon has reached the highest level.
Exotic Forging
Not only legendary weapons can be forged. The exotic SMG “Osteo Striga” and three class-specific exo-glaives can also be built in the Enclave workshop if you have obtained their weapon patterns. However, the crafting of exo-parts differs from legendary items.
What is different? For the exotics, it will be more about fine-tuning. You will have the opportunity to customize them to your play style. The magazine and the barrel are adjustable, but the rest of the exotic weapon remains unchanged. Thus, the character of the gun remains the same.
If you want an SMG for medium or long distances, you can customize that. However, if you want a hand-sized lawnmower for short distances, that can be arranged as well.
