10 years after the release of Destiny, a new mode of transportation enters the world of the sci-fi shooter. Starting March 5, 2024, the Guardian Games will begin in Destiny 2. With the event comes the new update 7.3.5, bringing hoverboards that replace the old sparrows. Additionally, the expansion “The Witch Queen” is available through PlayStation Plus.
What’s happening with Destiny 2? Destiny 2 is in a difficult situation:
- We should actually be playing the new DLC “The Final Shape” , which was supposed to be released on February 27, 2024
- But in November, Bungie postponed the DLC to June 4
- Thus, Bungie now has to somehow buy time to prevent an already long break with little content and low player numbers from turning into a complete drought
A hoverboard is free in the event, the other in the cash shop
This is what’s being done against the content drought: Bungie is bringing back the event “The Guardian Games” on March 5.
As a highlight, Bungie is introducing a “completely new exotic vehicle category for Destiny”; the skimboard moves into the sparrow slot, allowing you to perform tricks or stylishly hover around.
During the event, everyone can get an “Allstar Vector”. Those who complete the quest “Drop-In” can keep the board forever.
Because Bungie needs to make money, there is a second board available in the Eververse shop.
How long does the event last? The event starts on March 5 at 18:00. It ends on March 26 at 17:59.
What else is relevant? Those using PS5+ can download “Destiny 2: The Witch Queen” starting March 5.
