If you are looking for a powerful shotgun in Destiny 2, you should check out Perfect Paradox. Read about what this shotgun can do and how to effectively farm it.
This is the weapon in question: Perfect Paradox is carried in the primary slot, deals kinetic damage, and requires special ammunition. With a rate of fire of 140, it is a quickly firing shotgun.
Intrinsically, the legendary shotgun has a fully automatic firing mode. Additionally, you have increased ammunition reserves and reload faster when the magazine is empty.
We have briefly introduced the shotgun in our article about the best weapons from Season 9. The famous Destiny YouTuber KackisHD recently took a closer look at Perfect Paradox. We don’t want to withhold his insights from you.
What should you look for in a shotgun?
This roll is recommended for PvE: To perform well against computer-controlled enemies, go for this roll:
- Barrel: Rifled Barrel
- Magazine: Tactical Mag
- Perk 1: Demolitionist
- Perk 2: Rifled Barrel (50% more damage for the next 3 shots)
Perfect Paradox has a standard magazine size of 7 shots. This value cannot be increased above 8 with any magazine or mod option. Therefore, “Tactical Mag” is recommended as it offers additional stat bonuses alongside maximum size.
You generally don’t need to waste time with long reloads. Every grenade thrown gives you 8 shots immediately back into the magazine thanks to Demolitionist. Additionally, each kill quickly refills your grenade energy.
KackisHD fully relies on the power of “Rifled Barrel”. He notes that “Double Punch” is a good option, but only really shines with melee builds. The combination of Demolitionist and Rifled Barrel outshines the competition.
Small enemies fall in seconds; add clear is definitely not a problem. With fully automatic fire and the always activatable damage boost from Rifled Barrel, you can easily mow down powerful majors. Even against bosses, you deal significant damage and watch their health bars disappear.
Only 3 other shotguns have access to the rare perk Rifled Barrel:
- Imperial Decree from the Menagerie,
- Threat Level from the raid Forsaken
- The Ikelos shotgun from Escalation Protocol
This roll is recommended for PvP: Perfect Paradox performs best in fights against PvE enemies. However, it also has its place in the Crucible. These perks make it possible:
- Barrel: Full Choke or Rifled Barrel
- Magazine: Fluted Rounds
- Perk 1: Sliding (reloads 2 shots for 140 shotguns)
- Perk 2: Opening Shot
With this roll, you fully rely on range to take down other Guardians from a greater distance. In addition to the increased stat, there is a bonus beyond the range cap. Both “Sliding” and “Opening Shot” further increase range – and noticeably so.
Weapon Acquisition Measure
Here’s how to effectively farm the weapon: Fortunately, you can target farm Perfect Paradox. Through the Tower Obelisks, you can obtain the corresponding time-lost bounty.
Those who level up the other Obelisks significantly ease their farming process. For example, you can accept multiple bounties simultaneously and achieve faster progress in the required tasks. This makes the grind much more effective.
KackisHD has another tip: Visit the area “Artifact’s Edge” on Nessus. In the lost sector “The Planetary Machine” there, you can quickly complete almost all bounties for Perfect Paradox.
What else is in favor of the shotgun? Besides its excellent properties on the battlefield, Perfect Paradox has other advantages. It is, among other things, one of the most legendary Destiny weapons.
The shotgun is surrounded by a fascinating and paradoxical time travel story. We don’t want to spoil the events at this point. Interested parties should take a look at our lore article.
