In Destiny 2 , the community comes together to help one of their own. His newborn daughter is fighting for her life. Guardians are donating money with the wish “Eyes up, guardian” – the first sentence from Destiny. However, the daughter has since passed away.
This is the reason for the donations: A user on reddit, Bankrober0, shared a photo of himself from the maternity ward of a hospital. In the photo, he had Destiny 2 open on a laptop. In the background of the image, his wife could be seen lying in a hospital bed. He wrote: “We are patiently awaiting the arrival of a new Guardian.”
Many users on reddit were happy for their comrade and congratulated him on becoming a father.
But suddenly the post disappeared.
A while later, the man, who had now actually become a father, returned with bad news. He wrote:
At the moment, my little light is in the neonatal intensive care unit and is on machines that are keeping her alive. The general opinion of a large team of doctors is that she will not make it… I deleted my first post because I found it very difficult to read your messages congratulating me while knowing that my daughter is in such a critical condition.

The father expresses his gratitude for the Destiny 2 community supporting him during the toughest time of his life.
He refers to his daughter as “little light”, whose light is fading and is returning to the Traveler.
Community donates money for “Little Light”
This is how the community helps: A family member of the man has set up a “GoFundMe” campaign. There are photos of the little daughter and reports on her health condition.
Anyone who wants to and is able can donate money. Within 2 days, 374 donations have already come in, totaling $13,225, which is about €11,800.
The money is intended for the medical care of daughter Everly Kay, so that the parents can stay with their child without worrying about how to finance the treatment and without the father having to rush back to work.
Initially, they only wanted to raise $10,000 – but the goal was reached shortly after.

Why “eyes up, guardian?” Many of the donations for the child come with the addition “Eyes up, guardian”. This is the first sentence that the Ghost speaks to the awakening Guardian in Destiny 1 when he wakes from long sleep and begins his new life.
The Guardians hope to welcome the baby into their fold.
Update 13.7. 9:44 AM: Despite the efforts of the doctors, the little girl has passed away, as reported on the campaign page. She took her last breath in her mother’s arms.
