Although Bungie Destiny 2 is still being expanded and improved, there are some things that players wish for in the shooter. The community manager dmg04 recently responded to a player’s request and explained why there are features that players still have to wait for after years.
What features are being discussed? In the Destiny subreddit, a Guardian recently started a thread addressing often-requested features. In particular, it concerned options for content that has been in the game for some time, if not for years.
These included:
- Mercury from Curse of Osiris: Players still cannot ride the Sparrow there
- Sleeper Nodes from Warmind: There is still no protection against players having to open nodes they have already opened
Additionally, updates for the content from the last seasons were also requested. Unlocking the forges from the Black Armory might be fun the first time, but every subsequent time it is a chore. An update for the mode Reckoning from the Season of the Drifter was also requested.

What is the problem? Players are progressing further in Destiny 2 with their power level, which makes some mechanics of old content feel like an additional slowdown. After all, more and more features are being added to the game, but they often only affect newer content.
While there is a protection against receiving items you already have in the collection for the Eververse and Xur, this does not apply to activities and quests. It is still a nightmare for players to open all sleeper nodes on Mars, as it is possible that they simply do not receive the quest for the missing nodes.
What does Bungie say? The community manager dmg04 has commented on the post. The questions and requests from players help the developers understand what Guardians want most in the game.

However, some requests are more difficult to implement than others, as he explained with the example of the Sparrow on Mercury. The team had previously attempted to make riding the Sparrow on the planet from Curse of Osiris possible. However, this led to crashes or affected several activities on Mercury.
The problem took some time and blocked the developers from working on other things during that time. The team decided to look at the issue at a later point, as they simply did not have enough time to fix the error at the time.
The developers had to decide: do they spend time on the Sparrow Mercury issue or work on the Curse Cycle in the Dreaming City? The team will continually make such decisions regarding prioritizing and determining which features are more important right now and which can be addressed at a different time.
