In Destiny 2, the mission “Coup de Grâce” and the loot from it are causing issues. MeinMMO reveals how you can farm the exotic ship “The Fourth Sign.”
What is causing the problems? On the Weekly Reset of January 5, the Guardians were quite surprised: A new mission, the final hunt for the leader of the Scorned, went live unexpectedly. Unfortunately, the pursuit of the High Celebrant in Season 12 is not going smoothly for many players.
- If you deal too much damage to the boss too quickly, the story-heavy mission cannot be completed. Therefore, Bungie had to ask players to slow down.
- The numerous Taken Orbs and portals through which you chase the High Celebrant don’t always work.
- At least the subsequent cutscene clarifies the fate of Crow. Even though some Guardians joke that after the impactful video, everything in the game still remains the same – probably until Season 13 starts in February.
- Moreover, many players complain that they don’t receive the promised loot after the mission.
The mission screen prominently promises the exotic ship “The Fourth Sign” as a guaranteed reward:
The mission itself is considered quite successful, but the problems and lack of loot have led to much frustration. Especially the mysterious ship has players speculating. Did certain conditions need to be met during the mission to obtain the unique ship?
Exotic Ship “The Fourth Sign” bugged or rare?
This is what the Guardians are asking: You are also discussing the hunt and the loot on MeinMMO:
- In the comments, daniel asked: “Has anyone received the ship as a reward? Or is this random? Because after completing the mission, the ship continued to be listed as a reward in the mission overview… However, I haven’t received it.”
- Our reader Protoype speculated: “The ship and the triumph will be available only next week, as you can apparently only do this hunt once a week.”
- MeinMMO user Bobby was lucky: “So I did the mission solo yesterday and received the ship at the end. Could there be issues between consoles? I completed the mission on PS5.”
This is what Bungie clarifies: The Destiny developer reported via Twitter that they are investigating the issues in the mission “Coup de Grâce.”
Regarding the exotic ship, Bungie stated that it is not a guaranteed drop. Unlike what the game indicates, you only have a “rare chance of the reward” upon completing the hunt.
However, the chances improve with each completion. How high the original chance is and when the ship is essentially guaranteed is not clarified. This “bad luck protection” also applies to the raid exotics.
Currently, Bungie is also investigating why the armor from the hunt of the High Celebrant has lower stats than planned (via Twitter). Additionally, several triumphs are expected to arrive throughout Season 12, so you may not be able to check off everything in the triumphs tab yet.
How to farm the High Celebrant in Destiny 2
You can seemingly go on the hunt for the High Celebrant once per week and per character. Therefore, you cannot really run the mission to your heart’s content and farm loot – or can you? The Guardian “Flg” shares on Twitter a way to play the mission “Coup de Grâce” infinitely.
How to farm the rare loot: First, you need a character that has not yet completed the mission this week. That’s all there is to it for prerequisites.
- Equip your Kryptolith lure with the loot mod “High Celebrant”
- You start the Scorn hunt as usual
- As soon as you are in the mission, select your lure again. Reset the lure now. All loot mod slots will be empty.
- Complete the mission as usual. You will receive a powerful reward every time you complete it and have a chance for the exotic ship.
- Repeat the entire procedure until you have the rare drop in your pockets (Flg claimed to need 10 runs for the ship).
Have you already run the mission and collected all the rewards? Will you repeat the hunt for the High Celebrant now or are you in no hurry? Let us know in the comments.
With the start of the final hunt, Season 12 is drawing to a close. At least regarding the content. Read here what else will happen before the still unknown Season 13 starts in February: This is how Destiny 2 continues in 2021 – 9 open secrets of Season 12
