In Destiny 2, the new Season 10 starts on March 10 and an expert predicts that these 10 weapons will dominate PvE. Whether you face off against raid bosses or want to quickly get through strikes, we have a boss killer for all activities.
The renowned PvE expert Ehroar has taken a close look at the upcoming balance changes in the “Season of the Worthy” and set out to find which weapons deal the most damage and bring bosses down quickly.
Bungie announced that this time the nerf hammer will hit sniper rifles hard. However, the exotic snipers are mostly exempt from this. Therefore, two of them occupy the top spots in PvE.
The three Boss Killers in the “Season of the Worthy”
The Whisper of the Worm: The exotic sniper rifle Whisper of the Worm has consistently been one of the strongest PvE weapons since its return. According to Ehroar, this Exotic will take the top spot in the toughest activities in Season 10.
Especially in raids, the sniper becomes a true boss killer. Many damage phases are tailor-made for the Whisper. The boss stands still and you usually have enough time to unload your entire ammo reserve into the fiend. The DPS value reaches a strong 52,200.
Thanks to the exotic perk, you don’t have to reload and continuously deal high damage – provided you hit accurately. This is where Divinity comes into play. With the raid exotic, you boost the damage of the entire team and create a significantly larger critical hit area, which further enhances players with the Worm sniper.
Wendigo GL3: The legendary grenade launcher Wendigo GL3 is among the so-called top weapons and lives up to its name. The burst damage (damage), that is, the damage the weapon quickly deals without reloading, even surpasses that of the Whisper.
The first magazine of Wendigo reaches 65,300 DPS. This is due to the perk “Explosive Light”. When you collect Orbs of Light, the damage increases for up to 6 shots, and you also blind enemies.
Especially in strikes or public activities such as the sundial, the grenade launcher can really shine. The bosses here have less health than the powerful raid counterparts and melt away under the enormous damage.
Izanagi’s Burden: The exotic sniper rifle Izanagi’s Burden currently dominates many damage phases. Even after the announced changes, it will still be one of the best options in PvE.
With “Sharpened Blade” you can squeeze the entire magazine into just one super shot. The damage of the individual bullets remains intact and lands with a single hit on the poor victim. Additionally, the weapon receives a new perk in Season 10, which allows you to remain precise even under fire and land the important critical hits.
Moreover, it is only a special weapon. This means you can combine Izanagi with a power weapon. Wendigo, for example, is a good option. The reload animation of “Sharpened Blade” can no longer be sped up in Season 10, which noticeably reduces damage over time.
These are the best PvE weapons for every situation
Under certain circumstances, other weapons can also compete with the three leaders. With these 7 weapons, you can’t go wrong in PvE for Season 10:
- Legend of Acrius – The raid exotic deals incredibly high damage. The first two shots from the raid shotgun hit with a staggering 80,000 DPS. Due to the slow fire rate and the small magazine (without the catalyst), the DPS value quickly drops to 46,000. That’s still very decent, but you have to be in close proximity to the enemy.
- Borealis – The exotic sniper can deal 43,700 DPS per magazine after an “elemental shield break”. Another plus is that Borealis requires special ammunition. Unfortunately, the weapon is only situationally useful due to its requirements.
- Shotguns with “Double Punch” – Legendary pump shotguns can achieve very high damage values in melee combat thanks to this perk. If all pellets hit and you hit twice quickly, you reach 43,400 DPS.
- One Thousand Voices – The raid exotic deals devastating damage with a beam (65,700 dmg). However, it fires too slowly to keep up with the top weapons. The DPS value is just below 40,000. However, the advantage is that the weapon can also be used to clear a whole room, making it useful in many situations.
- D.A.R.C.I. – The exotic sniper fires with increased damage after a short scan of the opponent and has a very high fire rate. The first magazine deals more damage (56,600 DPS) than the competitor Whisper of the Worm. However, due to reloading and rescanning, the value drops.
- Anarchy – The exotic grenade launcher offers an interesting playstyle: by itself, the weapon deals little DPS, as it deals damage over time with the shock traps. However, if you pair the damage with a strong special weapon, such as a shotgun, a sniper with the sharpshooter’s line, or a vorpal weapon, the result can be quite impressive.
- Black Spindle – In Season 10, swords are being fundamentally changed. But even in the current sandbox, the burst damage is not to be underestimated. After a block, you can deal 52,000 DPS with two counterattacks from a safe distance.
How Ehroar arrives at the damage values can be seen in the detailed test video here:
Do you already know which weapon you want to use in the “Season of the Worthy”? Are you waiting for any new, powerful DPS monsters to come in Season or do you not pay attention to damage numbers at all?
My favorite exotic unfortunately only reaches 33,000 DPS, but is still always kept in the inventory.
