With Forsaken, Destiny 2 receives new exotics. We present to you all currently known exotic weapons of the major autumn expansion in an overview – sorted by weapon types.
Exotic weapons embody one of the most important aspects of the game for many fans of the Destiny series. By now, a proud arsenal has been assembled:
- With the launch of Destiny 2, there were already 19 specimens.
- With the first DLC “Curse of Osiris”, another five exotic weapons were added.
- The Warmind DLC also brought five new weapon exotics into the game.
- Just before the release of the Forsaken expansion, the sniper Whisper of the Worm was added.
The Forsaken expansion also brings new exotic weapons into the game in September 2018. While some weapons have already been presented by Bungie, more specimens were found in the Destiny 2 database after the Update 2.0.0. Some weapons may already be known to Destiny veterans. Four specimens are making their return from Destiny 1 with Forsaken.
Note that this is probably not all the fire arms that Forsaken has to offer, as some are still marked as secret. We will continuously update the list as more new weapons become known.

Hand Cannons from Destiny 2: Forsaken
With Forsaken, Guardians currently have two exotic hand cannons – one of which is likely known to many fans.
Pikass – Hand Cannon
What is the Pikass? It is a primary weapon in the kinetic slot. This firearm was already present in Destiny 1. Now the personal hand cannon of Cayde makes its return to Destiny 2 with the Forsaken expansion.
What can this hand cannon do? These are the main perks of the Pikass:
- Memento Mori: After a kill, bullets are loaded into the magazine that cause extra damage. Grants radar when the aiming device is used.
- Firefly: Precise kills with this weapon increase reload speed, cause the target to explode, and deal solar damage to nearby enemies.
- High-Caliber Rounds: Shots from this weapon push targets back further. Slightly increases range.
This weapon is suitable for: You gain bonus damage through reloading after a kill. Moreover, like with the MIDA Multi-Tool, the radar remains active when you use the scope. Especially in PvP, the combination of these qualities should pay off.
Additionally, the weapon has the Firefly perk, known from weapons like the Fatebringer from Destiny 1. Thus, the Pikass should also perform well in PvE.
Misdeeds – Hand Cannon
What is this Exotic? The hand cannon Misdeeds is a primary weapon in the kinetic slot.
What can this hand cannon do? These perks characterize the Misdeeds:
- Explosive Shadow: Fires corrupting rounds that bury themselves in an enemy. If enough rounds are stacked, they explode.
- Taken Hunter: Bonus damage against Taken enemies and Gambit invaders.
This weapon is suitable for: Misdeeds will likely showcase its strengths in PvE. The explosions and extra damage against Taken are good means to eliminate large groups of enemies – especially since Forsaken features many encounters against Taken.
But in the PvP part of Gambit, this weapon could also be suitable due to the additional damage against invaders. How much the damage bonus will be remains to be seen.
