In 2022, the Solstice event and the armor enhancement in Destiny 2 function differently than usual. Therefore, we show you everything important about the new armor, how to make it shine, and what else you should know about the event.
What is new about the armor in 2022? In the Solstice, players no longer receive, as in previous years, a measly armor set that needs to be upgraded.
Those who visit Eva Levante at the Tower will immediately be greeted with a legendary armor set corresponding to their class. Also, the known tasks that were once written on the armors no longer exist. Players now have to go resource hunting to make their new armor shine.
The event pass is meant to support players and provide a clearer overview of the tasks they need to complete for the shining armor.
However, the principle of enhancement is still not always well understood. Therefore, we will show you how to make your new armor shine and activate the glow.
How to make the Solstice armor 2022 shine
How do I make my armor shine? To make your armor shine, you need an important material for enhancement called: combustion material.
This material is needed to infuse your armor with Radiant Flame. However, the combustion material can only be obtained through the event pass that Bungie has newly introduced.
To access the event pass tasks, you need to be progressed in the new quest from Eva Levante called “Solstice Celebration.” You will then be shown tasks to complete in Strikes, the Crucible, or on Patrols.
To upgrade your armor, you need to socket a significant amount of combustion material into your armor. The armor now has three levels, increasing the amount of material needed:
- Level 1 – 1 combustion material
- Level 2 – 2 combustion materials
- Level 3 – 3 combustion materials
During the third and final enhancement, the armor will receive a distinctive and unique white light shimmer.
Can I break down my armor without worry? If you have made your armor glow, you can break it down without concern. The glow then remains permanently on all armor pieces that you have upgraded to the maximum level.
And if you accidentally broke down a piece of armor while upgrading it, you can reacquire it from Eva Levante during the event for a few materials.
How can I get good stats on my armor? To increase your chance of getting good armor rolls, you should upgrade them to the maximum level. This gives you the opportunity to focus your armor roll and specifically choose stats like “Resilience” or “Recovery.”
However, you can only do this if you have previously performed two focusings on the armor piece. Only then will you receive the option to specifically focus and perhaps maximize your outcome.
