In Destiny 2, the Iron Banner is coming in March 2018. Here are the start date, game mode, and the new weapons you can earn.
At the end of March, update 1.1.4 will fundamentally revise the Iron Banner event. Bungie is moving away from the monotonous 4v4 and bringing back the familiar 6v6 Iron Banner.
However, all these changes will only take effect at the end of March. This means that the Iron Banner taking place at the beginning of March will still adhere to the old rules. Bungie announced it a few hours ago.
This is what to expect in the March Iron Banner
It is expected that the March Iron Banner will be the last Iron Banner played in 4v4.
Start: March 6 (Tuesday) at 6 PM
End: March 13 (Tuesday) at 6 PM
Game mode: Conflict
Conflict is a straightforward PvP mode. Two four-player teams compete against each other. The team that collects more points through kills within a certain time or reaches a point limit first wins. There are no complicated mechanics – if you die, you respawn shortly after.
The power level advantages are disabled in the Iron Banner, and there is a normal matchmaking system.
Participation requirements:
You must have unlocked the Tower, meaning you need to complete the main campaign.
You must be at least Level 20.
Then visit Lord Saladin to start an Iron Banner quest.
The Iron Banner has its own playlist in the Crucible overview that you can play.
The rewards in the Iron Banner starting March 6
By participating in the Iron Banner, you will earn Iron Banner tokens. You then bring these to Lord Saladin in the Tower, who exchanges the tokens for Iron Banner engrams. The engrams contain special weapons, armor pieces, and cosmetics. Additionally, you need tokens to purchase three Iron Banner weapons directly from Lord Saladin.
The three weapons featured in the March Iron Banner have been revealed by Bungie. They are three new Iron Banner weapons from Season 2: We will briefly introduce the weapons.
