The Exotic “One Thousand Voices” is overly strong in Destiny 2. Most Guardians, however, do not want a nerf.
Raid Exotic is completely OP: For about a week now, Destiny 2 has had a new OP weapon. It is the “One Thousand Voices”. This is an exotic fusion rifle that only drops with a low probability from the final boss in the raid “Last Wish”. Therefore, only a few Guardians currently possess this weapon.
What makes the weapon so strong? One Thousand Voices fires a “huge, continuous death beam.” This beam shoots as precisely as the Sleeper Simulant and deals enormous damage on direct hits.
However, the Exotic also has something of a rocket launcher. The beam adheres to surfaces and explodes with a slight delay. Thus, One Thousand Voices also deals area damage.
This is shown to you by Nexxoss Gaming in the video:
The damage that the weapon causes is enormous. In PvP, the beam can wipe out multiple Guardians at once, and in PvE, the Exotic melts down strong strike bosses in seconds.
One Thousand Voices is so powerful that immediate comparisons were made with the Gjallarhorn from year 1 of Destiny 1. We have already presented the Exotic in detail here – and you have been commenting about your opinions on it.
Should One Thousand Voices be nerfed or does Destiny 2 need this OP weapon?
Here’s what you think about One Thousand Voices
These MeinMMO readers celebrate One Thousand Voices:
- According to Sven, One Thousand Voices is exactly what a raid needs. With the prospect of such a strong gun, “I would have also sent that silly robot clown on his golden throne to the afterlife more often.”
- marty thinks the weapon is great. In his opinion, they should leave the weapon as it is, as it creates a good incentive to play the raid. That’s what a raid is about, and it also brings a feeling like in the Glass Chamber. The raid was also played countless times in Destiny 1 to get strong weapons like Thorn and others.
- agrees: “Wow, that thing looks damn impressive! This is definitely a target worth grinding for a raid clear.”
- blacki hopes that the weapon stays as it is. OP weapons should also exist.

These MeinMMO readers have doubts:
- According to Manuel, Bungie is doing everything right with this, but 9 months too late. His clan remains mostly inactive; this Exotic won’t change that.

These MeinMMO readers demand / predict a nerf:
- criticizes: “It’s a mystery to me how the developers, with all their experience, keep missing the target like this.”
- believes that the nerf must come quickly because the thing is just too strong in PvP. However, he hopes that Bungie doesn’t kill the weapon. “The weapon seems to be a lot of fun, and you need weapons worth grinding for, but the balance should be maintained a bit.”
- Destiny Man sees a tactic from Bungie: “Now that almost no one has it, it is totally OP and everyone wants one. Due to its rarity, it’s still relatively unproblematic. But in a few months, when many have completed the raid or gotten the weapon, it will be nerfed so that not all boss mechanics can be bypassed by everyone’s fireteam taking out the boss in seconds with 2-3 of these things.”

The general mood can be summarized as follows: Most users do not want a nerf at the moment. Because for many, One Thousand Voices currently represents an unattainable goal that they want to gradually get closer to. The greed for power drives them and this motivation should not be curbed by a nerf.
However, many also fear that the weapon will become too dominant in the future when numerous Guardians possess it. Because then, in PvE and PvP, you will only see One Thousand Voices. Whether and how Bungie will respond to this remains to be seen in the future.
