In Destiny 2, players fear that the winner of the Guardian Games is already determined. But Bungie intervenes in the discussion and provides clarification.
This is coming up in Destiny: In Destiny 2, a competition starts next week, on April 21, where Guardians will compete against each other. The event is called Guardian Games. Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters will compete against each other for the first time for glory, a special Exotic, and victory. The winning class will be celebrated in the Tower for an entire year.
What do players fear? Since the announcement of the Guardian Games, voices have emerged predicting the winner. Fears suggest that Hunters will win the competition anyway and could completely diminish the excitement surrounding the competition.
The reason given is the numerical superiority of Hunters. Many believe that most Guardians play as Hunters. Due to their sheer numbers, they can collect more medals, complete more bounties, and ultimately secure the victory for their class. Titans and Warlocks would be at a disadvantage. Players with multiple characters would automatically choose Hunter to get a piece of the pie.

Data says this: That Hunters dominate as a class has been known to Guardians since Destiny 1. Accurate numbers to support these theses are often scarce. However, if you look at the relevant Destiny Tracker, trends can be identified that corroborate the players’ feelings.
However, to do this, one usually has to awkwardly navigate and compare individual activities, often the focus of the trackers is more on weapon usage or player distribution in individual activities.

No worries – Bungie ensures fair Guardian Games
This is how Bungie addresses the Hunter dominance: In the weekly letter to the community (TWAB from April 16 on Bungie.net), Bungie made it clear: “We are fully aware that class populations are not balanced. Hunters are so fabulous with their capes that there are indeed more of them than Warlocks or Titans.”
It further states that in order for Hunters not to outshine every class, medals will be weighted differently. However, this does not mean that the other classes now have a significant advantage, rather the Guardian Games will take place on a “level playing field.”
The German community manager also addresses the concerns of Titans and Warlocks via Twitter. However, Bungie did not provide exact weights or detailed numbers at this time. We assume that Bungie will come up with some statistics during the event’s course.
