Bungie is currently working on expanding its large global community around Destiny 2. In this context, there are some new faces among the studio’s ranks. We introduce you to the new ear and voice of the German community.
What’s the deal with the new staff? After raising the launch of Shadowkeep, Bungie is gaining new staff. This time, the focus is specifically on community work in Europe. Hence, there are now two new international members in the community team.
The studio wants as many Guardians as possible to feel at home when they are on Reddit, in the official forums, or on other social media channels.
Who are the newcomers? The two new additions will take care of the French and German-speaking regions. In addition to DeeJ, dmg04, and Cozmo, you should hear from the following gentlemen in the future:
- For France, Loïc is now responsible (Epyon on Twitter)
- For Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, it’s Maurice Zerjav (Maurice on Twitter)
By the way, over time, more additions will strengthen the international team.
This is the new caretaker for the German-speaking community: Whether you are a fan, Reddit user, or content creator – Maurice has recently been taking care of the concerns of German-speaking Guardians. But who is he anyway, and what did he do before?
The most important thing upfront: Maurice is himself an enthusiastic Destiny player and fan with over 1,100 hours in Destiny 1 and 1,200 hours in Destiny 2. As an established Warlock main, he knows what he is talking about and what you are talking about.
But some of you might already know him, as he is the former editor-in-chief and host of the YouTube channel “Inside PlayStation”. Additionally, Maurice was also the managing director of Fat Butterfly GmbH (now dissolved), which operated the channel for Sony Interactive. Community work is not foreign to him.
What will change now? Guardians from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland now have a direct contact person in Maurice when something is on their minds – basically a direct line to the studio in German.
Previously, one traditionally participated in the community in English subreddits, but now the German fanbase finally has the opportunity to be heard directly by a Bungie official.
For some Guardians who previously found it difficult to connect in English-speaking forums, new opportunities are now opening up. It should also become easier for YouTubers and Twitch streamers regarding communication with Bungie.
What else is changing? We also want to know – directly from Maurice himself. He has agreed to give an interview at MeinMMO and will surely soon answer some exciting questions about his work.
If you also have questions for Maurice and his work around Destiny 2, you can post them here in the comments. We will select the most interesting ones and ask Maurice during the interview.
What do you think about Bungie now also appointing a dedicated Community Manager for the German-speaking area? What questions would you like to ask him?
