In the lead-up to the Warmind expansion for Destiny 2, Bungie advertised new strikes as a core feature. However, these are more like recycled products than new content. The only truly new strike was received by players on PS4. Fans are disappointed.
Community disillusioned: As is customary in the Destiny series, the Warmind DLC also expanded the main game with some new strikes. These are a kind of mini-dungeon meant to provide players with a new experience and additional group content outside the story.

With the Warmind DLC, fans received three new strikes. Two were available to all players – “Will of the Thousands” and “Strange Terrain”. The third strike, “Insight Terminus”, is exclusive to PS4 players. But after the first gameplay experiences, disillusionment quickly set in among the community. Because the strikes are certainly not what the Guardians envisioned.
Strike recycling disappoints fans
The problem: The content of the two regular strikes is not really new and offers no new experience at all. Rather, they consist of recycled missions from the story of the second expansion.
The process hardly differs from regular missions. There are no new location sections. You will also search in vain for new enemies, strike bosses, or special mechanics.

In short: Both strikes, which are available cross-platform, offer no new content. Once you have played through the story, you also know the strikes.
Particularly bitter: Especially PC and Xbox players are disappointed and consider the strikes a farce. Not only do PS4 players get one more strike – the only truly new content is offered by the PlayStation-exclusive “Insight Terminus” strike. And it is supposed to remain exclusive at least until autumn 2018.

One of the core features advertised by Bungie is completely absent on Xbox One and PC. Fan outcry is growing, with Bungie even being accused of fraud and misleading advertising. Because before release, Bungie explicitly advertised the Warmind expansion with new strikes as one of the core elements.
Furthermore, there is anger that Bungie evidently has not changed its thinking in this area – even though the studio does not tire of emphasizing how much they listen to the fans. Because strike recycling was already a massive point of criticism in the first expansion “Curse of Osiris”. There, too, both strikes were essentially just reused missions from the DLC story.
In Bungie’s defense: Essentially, the strikes are indeed new, because the story missions are also new and have not been played before. At the beginning of the DLC, none of the Guardians had seen them yet. Fans are frustrated that they already know the strikes by the time they play them. But in that sense, the strikes are indeed “new”.
What do you think of the strikes from the Warmind DLC? Is the outcry from the community justified?
