In the online shooter Destiny 2, players are currently having trouble generating orbs. The annoying part: they are supposed to generate orbs for the new exotic weapon Arbalest. However, this is no longer possible in some activities.
What you need to do for the new weapon: To obtain the new exotic weapon “Arbalest”, players must collect 7 out of 12 specific achievements to earn the triumph “Celebrated Hard”. This is the new triumph tied to the “Frenzy” event.
One of the achievements “Green Light – Competitive” requires generating orbs in PvP or Gambit while being immersed in Frenzy Light.
The orbs are created after precision kills.
Here’s the problem: Bungie has disabled orb generation in four activities:
- in raids
- in competitive PvP
- in Gambit
- and in Gambit Prime
Why are the villains doing this? The issue lies in the increased occurrences of “Guitar” errors in Destiny 2 since the “Frenzy” event started. They were crashing Destiny 2.
The clever folks at Bungie figured out that it was due to orb generation in those modes where orb generation has now been disabled.
There are generally issues in Destiny 2, because the buff “Frenzy Light” causes endless problems and apparently disrupts PvP.
Bungie recommends the following to bypass the problem: Bungie says players should generate orbs in other modes such as:
- Quickplay
- Strikes
- Patrols
- Forging the Black Armory
- or in the new Forest
So it is not a problem to obtain the Arbalest. It is rather annoying for “completionists” who want all 12 triumphs from the event.
Here’s how the Guardians are reacting: They are never happy when something is broken in the game:
- Many do not consider generating orbs as their favorite task – they feel something is broken and players generally feel there are too few orbs and it is rather annoying.
- One angrily says: I definitely won’t go to PvP for the achievement where everyone is throwing grenades like crazy.
- Another Guardian in the forum criticizes additionally that Eva continues to issue daily bounties to generate orbs in Gambit. This task can’t be completed at the moment.
But many can probably get used to the change – everything is probably better than a game that crashes regularly. So now players find it difficult to complete all 12 achievements, and they remain at 11 out of 12 if they don’t want to switch to quickplay PvP – but at least it’s running.
