The exotic weapon Mercurial Storm, which is included as a pre-order bonus in the Lightfall DLC of Destiny 2 , has been temporarily disabled. Players who have already paid for it are not exactly thrilled.
About this weapon: Mercurial Storm is an exotic auto rifle that players receive with the pre-order of the Lightfall DLC including the annual pass. The whole package costs interested players €99.99.
The catch is that players can pick up and use the weapons immediately after pre-ordering from the Cryptarch in the Tower. This means they could play with it long before the official release of the Lightfall DLC, but just a few days after the showcase, Bungie had to temporarily disable the weapons in all raids and dungeons.
Bungie Support attributes the reason to a bug that allowed players to “bypass certain mechanics.” Some players suspect the weapon is responsible for the utterly insane damage of grenades, while others claim it allowed players to survive wipe mechanics in raids and dungeons.
Disabling weapons has almost become a ritual in Destiny 2, and there are even weapons that have been disabled multiple times and have thus become notorious.

The reactions are as follows: In the comments under the announcement and on Reddit, there is a mixed atmosphere regarding the deactivation of the exotics. Part of the users is venting their frustration and feeling annoyed.
Not only does a weapon have to be disabled again due to bugs, but it is also a pre-order bonus that cost 100 € to obtain. Some users had already planned to use Mercurial Storm in their loadouts for the raid “Kingsfall”:

Another part of the community, however, says that it’s not a big deal since the weapon was only disabled within raids and dungeons. This means it can still be used, for example, in the open world, in PvP, or in other content.

When will Mercurial Storm be reactivated? Bungie Support has not yet provided an exact date, but it has emphasized on Twitter that the situation is only temporary. The auto rifle will return to raids and dungeons, and players will regain access to their pre-order bonus.
