In Destiny 2 , the Trials of the Nine are postponed by weeks. Instead, the Raid Challenges will start later this month.
There is important information for all PvP enthusiasts and raid players among you.
As Bungie announces, the upcoming “Trials of the Nine” events are canceled. The Trials, which were supposed to start today, October 20th, will not take place.
The reason for this is increased reports of an “emote glitching” that does not allow for fair competition. This likely refers to the bureaucratic walk that allows one to walk through walls. We reported on this recently.
Bungie is currently working on a fix for it. They plan to roll this out in the first week of November. Until then, the Trials of the Nine are postponed. Bungie expects that the next Trials can start on November 3rd. More information on this will come in the future.
In the reddit forum, many Guardians are currently discussing this topic passionately. People do not understand why Bungie simply does not remove the emote from the game temporarily. It is hard to understand why the Trials have to be canceled for at least two weeks instead. Some users express their frustration that they now have no reason to log into Destiny 2 for the coming weeks.
Raid Challenges are on the way
But in just a few days, “new reasons” to log back into Destiny 2 are coming. After the Prestige mode in the Leviathan Raid, new raid challenges are on the way – the Raid Challenges.
They will start on October 31st. Each week, an optional challenge will be added to a raid encounter. Bungie will not reveal in advance how these challenges are to be completed. You will have to figure that out yourself.
However: In the Navigator, you will see which encounter has the raid challenge. And if the challenge fails, you will be notified with an in-game message.
As a reward, there are new badges for each raid challenge. Additionally, you will receive a guaranteed raid drop.
Raid challenges were first introduced in the winter of 2015 in the Oryx raid. In this, encounters must be completed in specific ways, and enemies must be defeated in certain ways. This is meant to break existing strategies in the raid and require a rethink.
